My job is shit, Im constantly stessed, under apprieciated, subject to stupid rules, been there too long, the hours are long, I get about 10 hours of the weekend to myself, and I'm seriously not going to tell you what my wages are because I'm too ashamed of them. It could be classed as a skilled trade but I've recieved very little training and am mostly self taught, and the only future in the job is for someone who enjoys the recreational activity my job provides.

What I'm trying to say is, I need a new job.

Only problem is what do I want to do for the rest of my life, I have no ambition and no fucking clue. The only ambition I ever had was to join the RAF and work my way up, except I realised that I'm much too thick to ever do well in the RAF. I'm 21 and I want to enjoy myself so that I can look back and say I lived my life, but I also want lots of cash to gloat about.

So what do you do? maybe one of you guys has the ideal job for me.

STU IS FIGHTING THE NAZIS etc..

Advice time;

Make a list of all your talents,
Make a list of all your shortcomings,
Get depressed when the second list is longer than the first,
Throw the lists away for being a waste of time,
Figure out what it is you enjoy,
Figure out if a job exists where you get to do what you enjoy,
Work out what you need to do to get that job,

GO SPARKY!

Sit down and think about your strengths and weaknesses and what you enjoy doing. Is it possible to do this as a job? I dont think being fixated on money helps in this decision.

Ive heard Macdonalds are taking on?? :D
Seriously, most of us dont have a career path mapped out from 20 years old onwards. I certainly didnt. Most of the time the best job to get is the one that pays the most money . Sad ,cynical, and often true :)

I'm currently a postie. I would never have thought about doing it, but its the best job I've ever had (apart from the really good DJ gigs). Basically I had no clue what to do when I left school, and I still don't. Keep an open mind, but make sure the job you end up going for is fairly secure, because where you work may be shite, but its regular as fucking clockwork.
Which is the problem I have atm :(

so does anyone know of one of those sites where you enter your details and it comes up with the ideal job for you?

dude, don't go for what someone else says to be your dream job. imo you should experiment and find out for yourself. [doesn't mean you shouldn't use such a service to get pointers in a general direction heh]
chill and take your time.
you know, I've just thought of this one: how about being a temp for a while? get yourself an agency and tell [really tell -you're the boss heh] them that you want to experience as many different types of jobs as possible.
dun know if it will do any good, but it types well heh. good luck!

Agencies aren't that good at listening (I speak from experience  )

Where's the links for training courses or apprenticeships? :(

A career in IT sounds ideal.

Sit around doing fuck-all all day except surfing and get paid shitloads.

sounds boring to me. I'd prefer a job that offers something new all the time, something exicting and different every day.

OI!

some of us work hard for the peanuts we get.

As said before - work out what you WANT to do and go get it. Unfortunately, no-one else is gonna help you unless you look for help.

not that it has anything to do with the above at all but how do you feel about becoming a soldier?

I resent that Ono. I'll have you know that I work very very hard at testing and upgrading the pipe to the net here at work.

Have thought about it then thought about getting my head kicked in on a daily basis, and would have to change my name to Pile.

But then again, maybe I'll ask the new girlfriend when she gets back from basic training.
