What class shall i be ?

hi all
i just started the game after playing a little in beta and decided the old game i play up to now got a bit boring so i have came to here
i have been given a lvl 18 elfidith ( or how eva you spell it ) and just want to know if i should use that or make a new char with something that could be more useful
what does this realm need most of ??

Well if you are new to the game, then I would recommend starting a new character from scratch anyway since it's the best way to get to know your character. Plus, the character you have been given might turn out not to be specced in a way that you would have preferred

As has already been said, the main thing Hibernia needs is simply people right now. But (and this is just my humble opinion here) I hear that moon specced eldritches and enchanters are very useful for keep defense. Alternatively, Hibernia is always in need of more tanks (champions, heroes etc).

But I would simply say play the character that appeals to you the most.

It all depends on what you want to do.

If you want to mainly solo become an enchanter, they solo really well upto about lvl40. Afterwards things seem to slow down for them though.

If you just want to group, become a bard. Theyhave very little solo ability, but they are extremely handy in groups with their songs and their mezzing capabilities.

As you can see from my sig I'm a Void Eldritch. We're good soloers (I can take all yellows and most low oranges), we do more than enough dmg in groups for them to like having you around, and if specced right we're can more than hold our own against enemy casters/healers/tanks in RvR. Our AE is fairly handy in keep defense, but it does tail off a bit fast from the center. Mana elds have the Point Blank Are Effect spell, which in a good group set up for it is one of the most lethal mob killers in the business. For now it's also handy in keep defenses, but when the new patch comes doors will be targetable by spells, and therefore anyone standing behind will be toasted quick.

Classes Hibernia needs are Mentalists and Wardens. Mentalists have decent nuking power, can heal a bit, and have crack (mana regen spell). Wardens are half tanks, half healers. They can fight a bit, have good healing, can ressurect, and get a pulsating bladeturn spell in later lvls making them well liked ingroups.

i asked my m8 what type of elfidith it was and he said its a void one
i suspect i will go solo most of the time but i do like it in groups as you can make friends
