What character will you be?

Before everyone spams 'J3DI!!!!111' a murder-inducing amount of times remember it will be very difficult to become one because you are not special. Will anyone be a Wookie for instance and am I right in thinking that means you will have a hard time talking to others?

I haven't decided what I will choose yet so give some ideas :)

Well you cant say jedi cause you cant start out as one and that char will never be one.

After playing for awhile you might unlock a thing wich makes you able to create a Force Sensitive character wich can be a jedi.

Im going Human that will be marksman then later bounty or rifleman.

I'm going human purely because they do not suffer negative bias on faction perks, and I fully intend to go overt Imperial (although having said that, virtually everyone seems to be going Imperial :().

Bounty Hunter is tempting, but again a bit too predictable - plus you end up with one completely useless skill path (carbine) and one largely redundant one (rifle).

This was me in the latter stages of beta.. Neo lookalikey.

Yes, of course. There's no racial restriction on skill trees.

Wookiie crafter/marksman/scout/medic :)

Im never going to be able to spend massive amounts of time in this game so there is no point becomming a master of anything.
This will be a pretty much self sufficient character hunting bathas's near wayfair :)

This is exactly what I'm expecting from the SWG community too. Another thing that put me off the game.

Carbine is far from useless :)

Legshot really cripples the action pool, and in PvE especially, action shot is VERY nice :)

Action shot stops the mob dead for 2-3 "rounds". You can actionshot, legshot, legshot, actionshot, legshot, legshot etc and kill a mob without being hit - as long as your action shots dont miss :)

Rifle is good for attacking the mind pool - many people will have low mind, so are perfect targets for rifle users :p


I've played mainly carbine on beta, and prefer it over the other weapons - but it's down to personal preference.

Oh yeah, the game is very unfinished :p
Many craft skills have "placeholder" items in, where they haven't got round to finishing the skills, there are still plenty of bugs & exploits.
No MMORPG is ever "finished" on release, and SWG really needed at least a few more weeks work.
1 day before release, they make sweeping changes to skill requirements, and don't get to see how it affects the game until release...

Still, Im eagerly refreshing my order status to see if it's shipped yet :)

I've never really been massively into PvP to be honest (despite being overt at the first oppurtunity). PvE is where its at for me.

Good information on the carbine/rifle though, will take that into consideration when I plan my char.

Exactly, I was a beta tester, and many beta testers didn't feel it was ready. People said so in the public forums and everyone jumped all over them, accusing them of trying to make them jealous or being Anti-StarWars. It seems there will be some people who are soooo into SW that they can't accept anything other than a glowing review :rolleyes:

I'm having two characters.
On Eclipse will be going Master Tailor, Master Carbineer and some engineering and a little scouting, member of the latest incarnation of Lords of England.

On Bria will be going Master Dancer / Master Musician with a little ID thrown in. Will be a member of FX (a entertainment based PA), had a great laugh with them in beta in the Tyrena Cantina.

Both probably human.

Same here really but then trandoshian are like awesome starting race for all that is going to be somekind of fighter.
