you are talking about the legends or about the krondor stories?

yeah the first one is not so good, but the second and third are good. Somehow they become better.

Finished The Testament by John Grisham this morning, and next is either going to be Timeline by Michael Crichton or a close-eyes-and-pick-one-at-random Robert Rankin book (probably Snuff Fiction).

Answered a thread like this on BAMF a few days ago :D

Cut 'n paste jobby methinks:

Fave book of all time is The Stand* (unabridged Ed.) by King - The man has and never will write a better book.

Imajiica, Weaveworld, both by Clive Barker.

The Harry Potter series (far superior (obviously) to the pile of shite HP film) by JK Rowling.

The Magician trilogy by Ray Feist.

Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.

*Currently re-reading it in spurts.

trebz -aye, agree with you about eddings, but for me thats quite enjoyable (as recoil says, trash fantasy) as for the wheel of time I've only read the first book, and since I've the books(c the previous list) to read and I asked(AGES ago) for more eddings books off my mate It may be a while before I get to read the rest!

The books ive read are :

Riftwar Saga
1. Magician
2. Silverthorn
3. A Darkness at Sethanon
4. Prince of the Blood
5. The Kings Buccaneer

The Serpentwar Saga
1. Shadow of a Dark Queen
2. Rise of a Merchant Prince
3. Rage of a Demon King
4. Shards of a Broken Crown

The Empire Trilogy
1. Daughter of the Empire
2. Servant of the Empire
3. Mistress of the Empire

Tales of the Riftwar
1. Honoured Enemy

I haven't touched any of the krondor ones, the idea of writing a book based on a computer game doesnt really appeal to me and most people have said they're crap. The Tales of the Riftwar series is a new one Feist has started to co-write with misc authors, its as good as the original riftwar novels so far.

Nice term, that sums up Eddings quite well, its easily readable fantasy, whereas Wheel of Time is not for the weak of heart.

I've a huge list of books to read myself, I've been buying em like a madman.

I don't allow myself into book-stores anymore! :uhoh: I find myself buying *really* random books. The Jordan book I bought while looking for some textbook for next year!

I'm always browsing amazon and adding books to my basket so by the time i get round to buying em i have like 10 or so books to get. Doubt i will ever reach the end of my list of books i wanna read, but thats a good thing i guess cos it means i'll never be without reading material :)

Part of the enjoyment is in actually buying the books new, i refuse to borrow of people or buy second hand books, it just doesnt feel right.

Am currently reading 'Once' by James Herbert, very well told story as usual from JH, different style to his usual works though, is about faeriefolkis and the relationship between the 'real' world and theirs, obviously with the usual dark tone in any JH novel being upheld by the resident 'hellhagge', recommended read.

thats why i dont go to libraries much. hate picking up bits of food off the pages, trying to decipher text through coffee stains etc.

Ah, that in my basket to buy at a later date, JH is a bloody good horror author, english too so he pisses all over stephen king. I especially like the '48 book and sepulchre. Back in the day when i used to make Q2 maps i named a few of my maps after JH books and chapter names, those being Sepulchre and Shadows and Imaginings, but sad but hey :) /me consumes the rest of the 2nd wine bottle, hic

I like horror novels but I'm a great fan of series' of books, i like my story to continue on rather than just been down and dusted in one book, i feel let down if the whole book is good but theres nothing more to come :/

Here's something interesting.

The remote control to my television consists of 35 buttons, and is fused on a high-density black plastic shell.

Loved the Magician by Feist and the follow ups, but recently I have been absorbed by David Gemmel books, Waylander, Druss etc, and I especially liked the Rigante books. Love the no nonsense style while magic takes a back seat, easy to read and totally engrossing. Just waiting for the last Rigante one to land on my desk.. Cant wait
