What are the biggest differences between US and Euro?

I have played on the US servers since release and have been enjoying myself but a few months ago I got a new job where I had to meet very early...
So my playtime have been from around 1PM-10PM CET on weekdays and on the US servers the action around those hours are very little...

So I am now finally thinking of selling and moving to the Euro servers...

The question is, should I?

Positive, negative things about the EU servers please :)

Thank you.

I would guess it would depend what server you're coming from and going to, and what your playstyle is and what realm you join :p

My impression is that euro servers are alot more hostile than the US ones, excal in particular. Prydwen has a supposed better attitude to realm m8's in general but not so much action to be had there.

Realm and server

I played Mordred and Hib/Mid-Morgan Le Fay...

I would probably be joining Hib Excal since I know some people there but not sure yet...

Don't see any reason why the euro servers would be any more hostile.

Differences:
Less americans
more europeans

ml raids at sensible times
advanced warning of patch changes
can't go test on the test server
less servers to choose from if you want to make alts

i came over couple of weeks ago with my GF.

The server and and realmmates i have met here on excalibur are 10 times more friendly then any server i played on usa.

+ all the raids etc on your own timezone help a LOT

i would make the move imo. i have not regretted it even 1 second.

got a few friends who work at a hugh pc-cafe.. so i see lots of ppl play daoc on different servers... and as far as i can see excalibur is very different..

i seen mid groups with hunters in em... i seen ppl complain that albs pallie's can rez...

a few days ago i talked to some guy who has been leading a relic raid ..

they had DC .... so he hide the relic force inside MTK emain.. then he sent 2fgm to take Dun arline (cant remember the rigth way to spell it)

the 2fgm then returned and he sent the enteier relic force to get the relic (power relic i think) ... this was mid bors ...

and tbh ..... no chance in hell that would ever happen on excal ..

i think 1 major difference on exclibur is that most ppl RvR ... so the general knowledge about RvR is bigger .. hence the demands to win RvR figths (raids/fg figths) is much higher ..

as i remember it the demand for a zerker nerf came from excalibur as well .. the first proff's i saw on zerkers 2shotting enemy heavy tanks was excalibur as well .. then it spread a lot ..

allso if you look at rvr movies from US-servers you see so many silly things like hero's and pallies having a little duel during the figth .. or hib groups without nurture druids ... etc etc

If you know people here then I would choose that realm and server, as it’s more fun to play with friends and they can help you out items, cash, guild etc.

I would think the main differences with an American server and Excal is that Excal is far more RvR active. With some very competitive groups from all three realms. Don’t have any first hand American server experience, but my guess would be that they are more adventure/PvE driven then the here.

On Excal Hibernians are the minority but pack a deadly punch. The general in-game attitudes have changed from a very friendly, were all brothers in arms, kind of attitude to a more professional attitude or even elitist attitude. Though these changes are probably quite normal for an evolving community, one that has changed its focus from PvE to pure RvR, the old spirit can still be found when we do unite under the green standard.

A quote that still makes me laugh, was /yelled on a keep raid a long time ago “We put the Beer into Hibernia” That was followed by a whole host of other /yells joking and laughing around. And probably Vantros singing “Wheels on the bus go round and round”…have you still got that on your qbar?

As they say … the choice is yours…

The main difference besides time zones is that we have the americans test patches for us
This means we probably don't spend so much time on pve things. Often we find their guides to be wrong tho :twak:
I doubt you'll find it hostile after a pvp server, but you do need to get to know ppl and build up a rep etc :) Hib is a good choice as they have the least population and are the most overpowered atm :D

getting other people to play yer chars ;) they levelling them up for you?

spose it's no worse than the usual PL/account sharing that goes on. Probably not best to shout about it from the rooftops though.

To be honest when I tried prydwen out after alot of nagging by a friend who shall remain nameless, I found it to be alot less friendly then excal was when I was starting out and levelling up.

Groups are not as prevalent as they were, compared to 6months ago (both Pryd and Excal), for pve at least.

I doubt that they care that much about it, rather that from a juridical standpoint, they'd potentionally get into alot of trouble if they condoned account sharing (take account splitting for example, we're getting that as well at some point).
