I replaced my Tagan 500w with a Seasonic S12 i bought as a spare when i bought my last rig (Date ordered: 18/03/2006 15:08:00), talking to people at DFI it seems i may have the "cold boot bug" and they recommend i replace the PSU for a later revision which fixes this problem.
Is it still possible for me to RMA it, or would i have to take this to Seasonic instead.

Thanks in advance

Dear Mr Dean,

We cannot replace non faulty items due to compatibility issues Sir. This has been a well documented issue with DFi for over 6 months.

HI,
The Seasonic S12 is in fact recommended for my setup on dfi-street (http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10854), and according to most sources on the site the problem was fixed in the later revision (which was released well before i bought my power supply.
There was no, and still is no indication on the site that the part is the version which is not compatible with DFI Lanparty Ultra-D's misleading me into believing you stock the working version. So i fail to see how it is my fault to expect ocUK to deliver a new power supply which is a fault-free component/state on the website special cases such as this (which as you said have been known for months, so you have been aware of it), where older version (as the newer version is compatible) are in fact not compatible with certain boards.

So do i actually have a leg to stand on?, i have a bad habit of keeping a spare PSU in case one fails (im impatient) which is my downfall it seems as if it was within a week i could simply send it back. Or should i just reside in the fact i wasted £110
:(

If the good are "not of merchantable quality" you can rely on the SOGA (Sale of Goods Act)

Well as he said, you cant return non-faulty parts regardless. You might have a chance to return it in case it was the store that said you bought compatible parts.

Sorry, but seems like thats the way it is.

Tried to loan a compatible psu and update BIOS?

and a little offtopic.. DFI-street rocks :D

a bit off topic, but i bought a digital camera this time last year. It has never worked correctly, so this summer i took it back to argos to get it fixed. They said becuase ive had it for more than six months, they will have to send it away to samsung, FREE OF CHARGE, for them to fix it instead. Thats fair enough. Now, when i got back from my holiday last week, they told me to come in, as they had a letter back from samsung. "they must just want to replace it" i thought to myself. The camera was pretty pants, but it still cost me £170. It was always playing up, the battery wouldnt stay charged, and when i clicked any button on the body, it just turned off.
When i got into argos, they handed me the letter and it said something like "we have found that on inspection of your camera, You have personally been fiddling around inside it". F*ck this! I told argos, quite angry by now, that i didnt have the slightest clue about the inner workings of a normal camera, let alone a digital one. I told them that this simply wasnt true. How dare they accuse me of something i hadnt done?! whats worse, Samsung now wanted to charge me £50 , and £10 delivery to have it fixed. Thats probably around the price of the camera if i wanted to buy it today. I complained, got the manager out, and he offered me a full refund. Which i was more than happy to accept. So just in future, dont ever by a samsung digital camera, and dont give up if you know you are right! The person in argos was very kind about it all, and said that they've experienced this before, where large companies try to wangle more money out of customers, and some silly people still pay it.

If you buy goods on the Internet, you still have the same rights as if you were shopping on the high street, in relation to faulty or poorly described goods.

In addition, you are entitled to a 'cooling off' period of seven working days, during which an order can be cancelled without any reason and a full refund made.

You don't have any grounds for complaint if you:

Were told about the defect beforehand.
Examined the item when you bought it and should have seen the defect.
Bought the item knowing it wasn't fit for what you wanted it for.
Did the damage yourself.
Made a mistake when buying the item.
Simply changed your mind

You may find that you get somewhere talking to the power supply manufacturer, rather than the people who sold it to you.
