Feeling a little hungover this morning, I slept in 'til 3pm. Good start to the extended weekend, and I raised my duvet in toast to 'er Right Royal Majesty.
Glorious sunshine outside and not a cloud in the sky, so I put aside learning my lines for meh next play and went out driving along county lanes with the roof down and a new slection of CDs in the multi-changer.
Found myself in Burnham-on-Crouch which is a lovely little village on the river, famous for its yacht club and RNLI station. I realised I had left my script in the glove compartment, so parked up and found a table on a jetty, ordered a couple of pints of Admans and learnt my lines while smoking a multitude of cigarettes, watched the boats roll in and watched them roll out again. Ticked off one of the most important 'things to do' for the weekend, and enjoyed the sun at the same time. Polite conversation with some elderly people, and was presented with an interesting diversion on how to get a couple of charming little skallywags' ball out of the river.
Drove back several hours later with the sun still shining.
Out with friends tonight, barbeques and parties every day until Tuesday.... this will be a wonderful weekend.
