Ok so i been back a week , lots of changes and what not some i feel are good some are bad . Now i have just run into a realy bad one....the price it costs to repair artifacts, holy fucking shit are mythic serious ? i have 1p to my name yet my artifacts to repair (One i need to now cause i have lost all benifits from it) will cost a minimum of 2p:eek2: . I mean this has to be some kind of joke no ? how can they justify this ? atm i have no real way of makeing money anymore . Not like i used to be able to , all the scrolls that where worth something are now worth fuck all , Tryed farming immo (also one of the items my wizzie needs) necro got nuked to death (just couldnt out heal the nukes with a BB). So just how am i gonna be able to repair them ? if i cant afford it ?.

Don't use your artifacts to PvE, and farm rogs for salvage in AC. Much better return and more reliable than farming rare drops.

Edit - You have an Ice Wiz and a Necro and you can't farm cash? White lights for the dull but gold-a-rrific win.

Seriously I have hardly done any PVE on midgard for months now and I'm finding I'm still earning more money then I'm spending... that's including a terminal powerbarrel addiction.

Earning/making money is easy... and like someone said in this thread ... Artifacts never break which is worth a lot in the long run.

For one i dont hardly pve at all , only pve i have done since i been back was join a few ML raid's (For mlxp) and did some champion's quest. I dont rvr 24/7 nor do i play 24/7 like some of u do, some of us do have a RL to you know . Granted i said some changes were good some bad , for most part the arti changes were good , but the prices to repair them are a joke period , mine wern't 100% when i returned .

Not sure if it is the best way to make money but use the necro to farm aurulite in the barrows instances, 1000 goes for 1p and you can get that in about 15-20mins

Artifacts are expensive to repair granted but they last for ever which is worth it, i remember when i played my scout all the time from rr1 to rr5 my fools bow was almost knackered and i really did not want to do another temp so i am glad this was implemented.

Besides once you have a template done and are happy what else is there to spend money on?

To be honest, it does make quite a difference what character you are for how much arties cost to repair.

My Paladin blocks so much that his armour stays in good nick (Spent about 3 hours in Avalon City as main puller last night, and lost only 1% on the Con of my armour). My Merc if I solo PvE loses Con like it's going out of fashion.

Foo, it's also worth noting that you'll notice this far more the first time, as you'll just get used to spending money on artifacts as they get damaged in future.

Also, bear in mind that if it doesn't have +skills, and isn't armour or weapon, the artifact won't lose anything when it loses Con, so you don't need to repair them. (I believe)

RvR gives enough cashflow for even the more arti-hungry classes to keep the necessary ones repaired, and most people still make a small profit on top. Don't use artis in PvE, just make a cheap 99% SCed suit for that I suggest, or stick to rogs.

Also what darzil said, it will cost more the first time.

I have much less time for DAOC then I would like to have. But I plan my RvR and PvE nights and I spend them in the pleasant company of competent people. Thereby I get the most out of my playtime. And find aquiring money and realmpoints very easy, and not something I need to play for 24/7.

as everyone has said- just repair arties that are armour or weapons, dont pve in them

money isnt that hard to come by, a levi/kraken raid will put you in good stead for a few weeks, lots of ml10 raids going on and DRs- and if you wanna solo the cash then farming scrolls in meso does accumulate cash fast, the "not as easy" ones will get you 500g a scroll, and tbh they do drop stupidly fast, and yes the farming barrows for auralite works well too

My op was a dig @ mythic's ludicrus idea to make arti's cost so much to repair , YES granted they last for ever but meh still costs to much to repair them. my artis were not full con when i resubbed , so atm im looking @ around 10p to repair them more if i count my alt's.

Dunno what artis you have but jewelry ones don't need to be repaired. The condition doesn't effect the stats at all... they don't stop working.

My friend told me I don't need to repair Eirene's either and it won't affect the AF, but I haven't really checked tbh.

No idea for weapons.

Well, it's Tartaros Gift, so at 70 con the +3 all magic will stop working, and the power usage of spells will also increase as the con drops.

- AF of armour will decrease with con (though I don't think this affects casters as AF is over the cap anyway
- DPS of weapons will decrease with con
- Power cost of spells will increase as con lowers, up to nearly double
- Jewelery will lose any +skills bonuses at 70% con

Apart from these con will not effect items in any way.

end of the day just rvr the money back m8y its quick easy! or even better just farm easy things and get cash hell just do the barrows instance dungen and sell the auralite as stated + the money and drops are ok! do the old quests from toa them items still fetch some plats, farm full books and sell them 3-4 p a book and only take about 30 min a book to get (depending on the area you farm adn the scrolls you want)
