Anyone else a little disillusioned at the capabilities of the server?

Seems that it isnt capable of supporting large scale battles without lagging up, freezing or kicking half the players off.

For some bizarre reason the euro server is a lot more laggy that the beta US servers ever were and has less players.

Im wondering if the euro server is a lower quality piece of machinery than the US servers.

Went to test out Emerald yesterday, 4 blue dots, 2 yellow on status and was almost lag free.

Markov, same population as werner at that time with a huge battle on Hossin...ZERO lag.

I've noticed this too, I normally get f all lag and problems like it but recently I've been sticking and juddering a lot.

I reckon they're running off a bunch of 486es

I also suspected this. It wouldn't surprise me much if those bastards at SOE were trying to fuck over the Euro players. Just like Mythic did by giving us GOA.

At least we get patches at the same time. But I reckon Werner is just overpopulated... none of the US servers ever reach such peak populations as Werner... reckon they might start a 2nd Euro server soon.

Ive never encountered any lag on Werner, just a higher ld rate.

Emerald is usually DOUBLE the werner population.

Werner is the smallest populated server of them all Except the private server.

At peak times Emerald gets up to 4 blue/2 yellow, werner rarely gets over 3 blue, in fact i have never seen it at 4.

Good example go to the planetside website and look at the population stats.

I've been locking up 2 - 4 times a night and when i log back in im surrounded by people who are LD too. Something major has cocked up cos it's only the last few days it's been like this unless maybe it's just that more people have bought it now and it was always like this but never pushed before.

They apparantly fixed lockups with todays patch.

One can only hope.

maybe boss, but since the lockup patch "lag" has become unplayable for me.

Ping to the server is fine and my connection is clean as a whistle but even after turning my settings to 1999 standards the game chugs along at 1 frame every two seconds.

I've had to stop playing altogether, which has frankly pissed me off alot

Yeah I hate noticed this as well, Werner Server is crappy

I generally play on Johari and Emerald because of this (normally around 150 ping where as Werner is around 80), and the American servers perform better for me. Less lag overall and they have more players.

Oh I must be the luckiest git in the world

Played my grunt, as lag aint quite as big a problem on the ground than when flying. (Look out for that mountain! What mou... <BANG!>)

Had fun but went back to Sanc to update my certs and took the HART back to the battle.

At least I tried to, it crashed when trying to load the continent.

Now it wont enter the game at all on any server.




So if Beta was free what the hell is this and why am i paying for it?

As more people are getting the game the server seems to be struggling. I get between 80 and 120 ping.

Tenko it's not just you, there are loads of people in the Chat rooms having the same problem with not being able to get on the servers even though they say they're running.

Lag is VERY bad tonight.

Entire outfit having 10s lagspikes straight after one another.

I got booted and decided not to go back on - it's unplayable.

Yeah, we took a base, had a 10s lagspike and it got hacked by TR.

It is pretty much unplayable at moment, specially in a vehicle because in the lagspike I can drive around normally, but of course don't see people in the way etc.

I think they busted something else when they fixed lockups as that is the FIRST time I have ever had remotely that much lag.

The Werner servers are not 486's

Never more than a 286 at the most.
