I am sure he has noticed stifling football and lots of 1-0 victories, it will only have us playing the same football for the foreseeable future

But yes many congratulations to the Greeks, the Portugese played like they had already won the competition and the Greeks just wanted it more.

Just as an aside I thought Sue Barker's link from Wimbledon, "So, just where do the Greeks come from?" was absolutely priceless!

The tournament has been a huge disappointment yet fantastic at the same time. A strange mix. Greece are a solid team, not world beaters and not even truly international class, but with a combination of a solid defence, structure, organisation, belief in a key group of players and a shitload of luck they've written history.

Congratulations, but I'd still rather have seen Czech Republic and Portugal in the final.

I rooted for Greece as my second team since they beat Portugal in the opening match... they really played well in every game and thoroughly deserved to win it. Every single one of their matches they were so well organised and there was always a man covering every little area... Really enjoyed watching the Greeks this time around, I was worried they wouldn't get past the Czech's but they did and they got the prize. That Greek right back is simply ownage... as is the guy who got the goal in the final, Charisteas I believe...

Hmm, mixed feelings. Its nice to see that it is an open tournament and not exclusive to the old boys of Europe, however Greece were so boring you might as well have had Italy win the thing.

I really would have prefered The Czechs go through against Holland or Portugal in the final. It would have just made for a better game and raised the profile of the tournament. As it is I think this tournament will be remembered not for an amazing acheivement by Greece, but for poor performances by some of the worlds best, poor referering and managing.

Generally the key for the success was that Otto managed to combine a defense with 3 in the back using one of there midfielders. So we had the luxury to have solid defense making covers when it was needed and to be able to pressure the opponent and to be flexible in order to keep the ball in our possesion.We have really fast players and that helped a lot to reach the final and take the cup.

As for the final the game was exciting imo but my opinion here dont count . What do u think about the game.

Btw never expect on finals to see nice football. Even if Chezh were on the final, Chezh that played by far the best football on this euro, u wouldnt have seen nice game.On the final the only thing u are thinking is to take the cup.
You ll agree with me if u try to rememeber when it was the last final that u watched really nice game.

PS:This achievement was a great success for Greece. I hope to take advantage of it and make a better championship.
