Came across Carbon 60 recently doing some research. This stuff is weird. h2g2 has the easiest to understand definition of it.

football shaped molecule that can be a superconductor, or non-conductive, amplifies sound, is also light reactive, and is hollow so can be loaded with other molecules.....and its bioactive as well, and can be used to simulate/stimulate DNA..

That is just Buckminsterfullerene, its been known about for ages, and it does have some cool properties, like it is the best lubricant for engines etc, much better than oil. Also u can make carbon nanotubes with half of one at each end, and carbon nanotubes are about the strongest material we can make, its more than twice as stronge as Kevla for example, although atm they can only be made about 4mm long. :)
