Ok system is:

Athalon xp 1700
K7t266pro 2 mb
256 DDr ram
crappy Hd
crappy 32mb geforce 1
Windows xp prof

Basically was playing Quake 3 and the computer froze a bit (as if it was loading something (like usual) but then the Pc restarted itself?

Was just wondering if this was a hardware or driver issue?

Sorry for the vague info and thanks for any help..

You got a good PSU (Power Supply Unit)? Cos it might be that..
Did you buy the case new? If not, what spec pc was running inside it before? If yes, how much was it.

Could also be over heating. My PC sometimes goes tits up if the radiator nearby is too high.

Have you got a decent heatsink and fan connected to the processor? What about good thermal goo? (Arctic Silver II etc).

Get a mobo monitor program and post some temp readings.

Hi thanks for the responces..

Dunno if the PSU is good or not.. did buy it new when i bought the newprocessor, mobo and ram though though.

Temp wise :

sensor 1: 40 celsuis average
sensor 2: 51 " "
sensor 3: -46 ? :p

(used mother board moniter to get temp)

btw it was build around 2 weeks ago and no problems since then.. the restarting thing has happened three times so far.

The fan i'm using is some 12 pound thing from simply.. did not use any thermal goo :/ other than what came with the heatsink and fan..

Hmm go in to the bios and check what temp reading you get in there.
