Weekly Pickup Group Tuesday 13th June

As before it is a sign up event for 8 people interested in planning to run as a random Pick up Group for one night only. The emphasis is on light hearted fun. Whilst we don't want to be exclusive we require certain classes to be able to run.

Date is Tuesday the 13th June - that is next week. Time 7.30 UK time kick off and finish 10.30 +.

Everyone should be ready to use voice comms either Ventrilo or Teamspeak - I would advise everyone to have the following installed so we can move across servers on diffierent platforms. Thanks Daigh for the info:

We run a no add policy on this group even if we are randoms. The emphasis is on meeting people and having a go at running in a full group.

The idea behind this group is for people to have a chance at meeting others and hopefully you will get to know a number of people who are like minded. I would be pleased if some of you formed your own groups as a result of meeting on this.

I also would request that if you sign-up that you do everything to either show or you tell us that you cannot make it. It is frustrating to try and fill spots when people cannot make it. So please folks try to let us know what is happening.

Nice iniative to get people to rvr and soz for a bit offtopic but... I wonder why you list yourself as backup?

These days I'm usually lucky to have a grp but if I was going to sign up, I'd rather have the organizer in the group even if it meant that a druid who wanted to join would be left out. Always need someone to "run things", and suppose the grp would be just a chaos if none of the ppl who signed up is a leader type.

I have to say I think you have a point but there is another side to this - if a system works it works despite the individuals. In other words by putting myself as a reserve I am simply saying anyone can do this and it does not have to be tied to Tuesday nights. Its kind of saying - come on folks try it.

Another thing a FG is about a Bard taking people out and making calls, where we have had problems is usually when for example I have been trying to make calls and others have done the same. The confusion it causes is not good, as a result it makes sense to say I can organise this - but I don't necessarily have to be the leader in the group (to be frank I just don't have the experience to make calls).

This is the logic of setting myself up as backup. I always come in and get the group going and I provide a vent channel if it is needed. I will remain online all night so if I am required the group has someone they can fall back on. In 2 out of 2 runs the group have needed me in there anyway so it is not such a big issue.

All in all out of the two runs we have had we have met nice people all of whom are adult enough to be able to chat and have a bit of a laugh. The secret is on light hearted fun and not expecting too much in the way of killing or being able to compete with the more fixed groups. That is the real point - just chilling out. I am also saying to those people that if they wanted to there was nothing to stop them talking to each other about forming a group of their own....

Well, think i can come with my vamp no problem!

And i can probably also sign Ardd (nurt druid) Linling/Charun (warden/BM) and alimion/frc (bard/chanter) up. I will need to confirm this, but i think they are some pretty safe bets

I am in reserve and can bring a fully templated nightshade with disease poison to mess with the others if we need it. I will also stay online all night with you on vent for the crack and to hear how it is going.

Apart from that we do need a nurture druid. Crispy your in on your Vam,p - what is the name of the vamp please? If Ardd can druid that would be great as a nurture druid is pretty much essential.

So please let me know which of your gang can turn up.
