My IE seems to have been hijacked by the websearch search engine. It makes itself my homepage every boot. Godknows what else is happening.

I'm guessing adaware and spybot need to have a go at it. Latest links anyone ? Any other ideas ?

Thanks,

Wij.

Completely and utterly correct :p

And, apart from changing your browser to Mozilla/Firebird, I don't really know.

Wij, have a look in tools>internet options>general>settings>view objects

Occasionally some stuff can appear in there, I've accidently clicked those 'do you wish to dl xxx' popups sometimes, and inadvertantly saved stuff I don't want.

I'd check your dialup setting too, just in case :)

Well I use broadband, but I have some dial-up settings so I can login and find out what the problem is when the broadband is down, also I have one for my work and others that are copies of my father's and mother's so I can test them.

Anyone with a modem installed should always check.

One good place to look is the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\microsoft\Internet explorer\main

In there, there should be keys like "Default URL" , "Search URL" and "Main URL"

Or words to that affect, look about for LOTS of '%' that should be the dodgy ones. Also look in Current Config\all the above as well.
