Webcam Query

Im about to embark in the seedy underworld of webcams. Bought my two brothers one for Christmas to help keep in touch etc. One of them has broadband, the other 56k (I've broadband)

Ive been trying to get them set up and running but am having problems with the 56k connected one. Picture at both ends is fine, sound however is not. He can hear me clearly but all I hear is distortion. Weve gone through all settings (using yahoo messenger) but still cant get it to work.

Does anyone have any experience with webcams who could help me out.

All you can do is drop the settings to rock bottom.

It sounds as if you are trying to forcr the 56k to act like broadband.

I bit like when you try to watch a cable clip on a 56k, by the time it has buffered the high content stream, the modem has just missed half of it.

It is unlikely your 56k will cope with a video stream and a voice over.

Switch off the web cam and see if the voice improves and you know the solution. Get him broadband.
