Weapons with lifedrain - some questions/advice needed

Firstly;

The TG-weapons, in my case a h2h claw, with lifedrain - about how much real damage do they do and how much is absorbed? I know it is affected by resists and level but maybe an exampel? :)

Secondly;

I was also lucky enough to get a hold of a lifedrain claw from Dodens Gruva also but only 95% quality. Is the lifetap ènough to use it anyway?

Thanks in advance.

Lifedrains are not worth it.

I was disapointed by the lifedrain charge from Hrord's Braided Belt. Hurt for 62 and healed for 58 on an Infiltard. I could have used a heal totem or potion instead.

contraversial, with prices for items you could believe that lifetap was a desired attribute. ill be sticking with my 60-90 dam dot proc thanks.

Silly example, if you had a PROC you wouldnt have the 1 minute timer charge - i find the lt proc on my legion hammer (yea yea, i made a temporary template around it with my thane... been using it for 6+ months now :p ) very handy, both in pve and rvr! Can heal for anything between 60 and 110.

Marcus,

Best thing you can do is simpy try the claw , perhaps on your offhand and see how it works. H2h savages get an amazing amount of hits in and their procs go off like rain , due to this reason a friend of mine put an ablative proc on one of his weapons , I would see this working with a lifedrain as well.

In this case you could setup a dot proc on your main hand and use the lifedrain claw on your offhand and see how it works. Lifedrain charges are VERY different from procs , especially on savages.

See for yourself if it works for you , if not you can still salvage the claws ;)

Thanks for the answers and info around these kind of items - I intend to try the weapons but I would like to reach 50 first in order to try it on albs and hibs on equal terms.

LT weapon for seers is nice.
But my LT hammer seem to proc 1/3 of what my ablative proc hammer does.

Ok I know my English isn't the best but I did write:

"It proc a heal that delve 130. Every time it proc I get healed for 178 HP."

It is a heal proc and it delves 130.

I have the DG claw myself, and the only time I tend to use it is when helping other guildies level, saves on healing power from using self-buffs. Heals for about 80-110, but it does have the very annoying habit of only procing when I am at full health or the second before buffs run out.

Try it, see if you like it, best advice when it come to a lot of things. :)

IMO lifetaps are an excelent proc. It both heals you AND gives you health back. If you just stare at the damage or health it is poor compared to DD or heal proc. But no other proc does both. My legion hammer has saved my ass many times (PvE).

/me waits for Sarnat to edit the post so it makes more sense ;)

What she/he means is that it damage your target 60ish? (normally on a well SC:ed player?) and gives you those 60ish hitpoints instead.

Hence double effect versus other proccs.

Personally though I prefare 5x60ish dot procc. Simple math really, take 60hits from target and recieve them yourself or 300 hits removed on target.
DoT can also can kill people after you die, dont happen often but fun when it does.
DoT can also prevent some targets from restealthing and break speed
