Weapons Drops

Hi Chaps, I know of the OTD dropped by DOB, this appears to be the best peircer by all accounts....

What other high lvl peircers are there out there and where do they drop....

I have a few wispy thorns and mananese dagger...

but is there anything else around 14-15 dps (include where you get them from too please)

Shard of Light is the best piercer, a drop from an epic mob in Cursed Forest called Orey-eyed Oghamist :> We killed him once but whoooop, no drop now how gay is that ;> (I'd be a one 16.2 piercer richer now) The Dob drop is a pain in the ass to get by all accounts, a wandering savage fishing bear in the bog, but it's also the best left hander

Wicked Thorn should be ok I think.
Dunno the stats but it drops fairly often from dullahans and Far Liaths in Lough Gur

15.3 dps 2.3spd (If i remember rightly)
BUT NOT left hand usable,,
I use my Silvered Spellbound Dagger 14.1dps epic wep,,
By all accounts itll do me fine till about lvl 46 when ill swap to the Shadow Crystal Rapier,,
Then a 16.2dps one when i hit 48/9

14.1*1.00 = 14.1 dps
15.6*0.89 = 13.884 dps

the effective dps in the epic is higher than the shadow crystal

the only weapons ill be changing do are probably high-tier crafted (if anyone ever can make them) and the Shard of Light and Dobs Bloody Fang

oh and wicked thorn, lower dps than shadow crystal, so not worth using imo really its hard to get anything better than the epic weapon other than the few otd's (Dob) and hard-to-get (shard of light) items

atm im using
Silvered Spellbound Dagger (right)
Balanced Asterite Dirk (left)
Saphire Guarded Rapier (2-hand slot)

the saphire guarded dosent give much dps in a fight, but the speed can give it bigger bs shots than the spellbound (93% dps 12 i think)

Untill we work out the exact formulae for actual wep dps u cannot say for sure WHAT ull be getting from the SC stuff,,
Also take into account a HIGHER proc and when does wep condition come into play?

Neway,, by the time I hit lvl 46 or so the epic weps condition will make it worse than SC stuff

the effective dps and af forumlaes have been confirmed in one of the grab-bags on the herald

as for condition, get it repaired you fool, durability has no effect on fps, condition does, dur just determines how many times you can repair it

the effective dps =

DPS * Con * Qua

let us assume 100% con on both weapons, as when dropped or freshly repaired, then these figures are correct :

14.1*1.00 = 14.1 dps
15.6*0.89 = 13.884 dps

as for procs, indeed the shadow crystal is a bit stronger but i would rather hit harder than have an occaisional proc. do not forget that the proc on the shadow crystal will happen about 4-5 levels later than on the epic dagger, so leaving you without a proc for a few levels

as for bonuses, shadow crystal has nothing spectacular, the epic has pierce bonus among other (+3 i think, maybe +4)

also the shadow crystal wouldnt even reach the effective dps of 13.884 until you where about level 46 or 47 (a little unsure of the dps cap formula, i think its something like 1.3 + dps/3.something)

imo and by this reasoning, the epic dagger is better than the shadow crystal rapier. theres my argument, so agree or disagree if you want, but atm i see no weapons i would rather use really apart from those such as the shard of light, and of course the high-tier guarded rapiers

I just wanted to add that spear drops are as common as a lvl 1 magican soloing a PK guard iam now lvl 47 and have seen 1 spear drop since lvl 1 i have like 10 of those firebrans almost every ez blade and allot of other shit but those mobs with spears are prolly not inserted in to the game until the Expansion ..

I already said I wudnt swap to the SC untill lvl 46
and I seem to have an uncanny knack for weps procing hehe

And of cause it goes with my l337 armour

Thought ud rather be looking for Left-Hand-Usable instead,

As for spears,, had 2 spectral ones drop in 1 session at grannies,
Uve also got Muirs spear, spear from trogs in tc,, and plenty more I cant think of right now

and ofcourse high qua crafted item when crafters get the next material tiers to work with
