Weapon of choice?

I hear rumours and general chat that the next patch is going to nerf hammers a touch.

Being a Thane (and healer), hammers seemed the natural choice for me. Now i am having second thoughts about this.

I hear slash will own after this patch, making swords and axes the uber weapons of Mid.

So my question is simply, for a tank, namely Thanes, Skalds, Warriors and Zerkers, whats ppl opinions on our these, and please make clear what in your ideals is the best all round RvR tool.

plate and alb chain armor are now slash-neutral instead of resistant. Alb chain is crush-resistant. Scale is crush-resistant and slash-weak now.
Other armortypes ignored because their users have such puny hp anyway

there is no style in axe/sword close to provoke as judged by dmg output/end cost.
if you are happy with constant lack of endurance then go axes/swords

However, swords are generally faster than hammers and that will make it easier against enemies with fend. You will need fast swords/axes against hibs. And let's face it, hibs are the major threat, especially when they get insta ae mez too. Oh, and DO get purge, every one of you. Nothing blows more than just standing around and see your mates getting whipped, then they come for you.

Is it me, or does your little chart thingie say that cloth armour has no resistence, or vunrebility?

Yeah Archeon, cloth has no resist or vulnerability. And feel free to go and buy a set of crafted Silksteel cloth armour (af45 and 0% abs) ;)

What this means is that no weapon types get a + or - against cloth. Then again, most melee types can chew up wee cloth wearing casters in a few hits anyway heheh.
