Weapon Damage

The WeapDam number on stats page... does this automatically factor both dps and weapon speed?

i.e. will a weapon which provides me with a higher WeapDam always outperform a lower one (over time)?

that number is a factor of several things, It's your capped DPS, your weapon skill and the weapons con/qua and the colour it cons to you.
As far as I know it's not used at all in actual game calculations it's just a yardstick you can use to see what works better.
