ok im currently doing blunt but im wondering what weapon class has the most damage for a one hander not counting resistances and i dont want to end up doing blunt if its only good two handed an such , cheers
hehe all em em do equal damage really in the long run, however NEVER choose thrust for an armsman/paladin unless the armsmans a thrust poler, thrust mercs, sousi would help ya on that on i imagine, and on slash Sycho and cruch Naetha, slash and crush are pretty much equally balanced so its fair to go either way really
Single handed slash and crush are STR, while Trust is DEX/STR, i think all 2-handed ad polearm weapons are STR but there are more slash damage types of these weapons than Crush and Thrust. Infs and Scouts mainly use thrust because they naturally have a high DEX and low STR. However Scaren armsmen could use trust weapon.
All the damage's are equal in the end, really. However, certain damage spec lines have better combat styles for certain classes. For example, Slash is perfect for a Sword and Board Armaman or Paladin or for a dual wielding Merc. Crush is somewhere in-between. Thrust is only good for a 2h/Polearm spec or for an Infil. Thrust 1h styles are really, really bad for a tank. Trust someone who speaks from experience.
- The styles open to your class (Armsmen/Paladins cannot use some Thrust styles, which chain off evade... etc)
- Resist tables, and which realms you encounter the most (i.e. Mid tanks vulnerable to Thrust - Hib tanks to Slash... etc)
- The most important is style and how good you'll look in action. Thrust has some nice styles and the Gladius is one mean looking weapon.
I don't have a link going for the full resist tables, Nolby Pride have it on their site under Misc, it looks genuine enough but you know what they say about NP
Conclussion: As an alb the most balanced dmg would b TRUSTH (altho 1handed/shield trusth sucks) Slash as 2nd option (best for 1handers imo)
Anyway its all about liking, f u use to fight hibs u might go slash but trusth would b more balanced having the best bonuses against enemy main support classes and primary mezzers.
