After the group stages all I can say is Forza Italia - they've turned up this World Cup and I reckon with all the trouble going on in the Italian league right now they'll go all the way for two reasons. First being they'll be extra clean to clear Italy's name and prove they can win without the matches being fixed, and secondly a lot of their squad play for teams on their way down, escpecially the Juventus players who don't fancy Serie C next season. Altho Buffon and Del Piero have said they'll stay, others may not be so keen. They've stuttered through the group stage as usual and still finished top of the group. My money's on them this time.

England are probably good for a quarter-final against Germany, not sure how they'll get on there. Granted the Germans will leak goals but England aren't exactly bristling with firepower up front. An unfit Rooney, a feckless lanky bastard (how long until he turns into the new Emile Heskey, as in rubbish and falls down a lot?) and someone who probably still buys Shoot! aren't exactly going to scare the big guns in the tournament now are they? Lampard and Gerrard might but unless Sven wises up and sticks with a holding midfielder they'll never be as effective as they could be.

I still think the jinx on South American teams in Europe will come out and despite their weaknesses, Germany will make at least the semis (they were shit at the last World Cup and still made the final). I still have a feeling about Spain...

You may all kneel down and commence the fellatio if you wish.
