I hate musicals and I noticed that the movie of the stageshow didn't get the best of receptions but I settled down tonight to watch it anyway. What an eyeopener it was, laughed through about 90% of the film and now I can't get that damn 'Springtime in Germany' song out of my head. Damn you to hell Mel Brooks! :p

Anyone else watched it? If not I can recommend it for a few laughs.

Mel Brooks is the funniest man alive - I saw him on Parkinson a few months back and he told a story about when he was in Germany in 1945 - singing to some encircled German soldiers, at the end of which he heard a faint clapping and 'sehr gut!'. He also said some Jewish people criticised him about an early version of The Producers - at the end they came up and complained and saaid they had been in the war and it wasn't funny - he replied 'So was I and I didn't see you there!'

Classic.
