watch sky-tv in a different room

Is it possible to watch sky TV in two rooms with one sky digibox, on a different channel?

If so is it hard to set up and expensive?

Don't think so, not in my experience, personally i dont have sky but other ppl have to watch what everyone else is watching without another box.

No you can't. I currently run mine all over the house but it's one channel everywhere. You need another box for different channels in each room and I think they will probably charge you per month for it.

Most boxes have more than one tuner these days.
They just put the same stuff out on every output.

A simple software change would make it possible, but by making you buy a second box they get to charge you for it.
Can't say i'm complaining personally tho.

Yup I pay £10 for an additional box, but its not HD/+ which sucks.

I think it is, you don't get many channels in HD and it's quite a bit of money for the installation isn't it? I remember reading in General that some of the shows(Battlestar Gallactica for instance) don't come in HD in the US so it's very unlikely Sky can get it.

I think there is 12 channels the install for me was £200 for the box i had sky + so did not need a install charge. I think the way it works is any thing can be made HD as it is still filmed on film so if sky get that they could make it HD.

While there is not loads of channel watch Discovery and History in HD is brilliant I personally do not see it as a waste.

I did when i got Sky HD Maybe i would not buy it again but for the HD Movies ect i will not turn it off to save £10

It didn't cost me any more I don't think as I was getting multi room anyway, you also get 200gig instead on a 100g HDD IIRC. Install was free and the box I got for £100 (If you tell them you saw an offer somewhere, or if you just ask them to drop it cos your mate only paid £100 they seem to oblige)

So as far as I understand it I don't pay anything more than anyone else with Sky+ and Multi room, but I have a nice matt black sky box with double the storage space and I have some HD Channels.
