I found this kinda interesting.. and wanted to have somebody's opinion.

Friar spec points: 1.5x
Warden spec points: 1.5x

we both have the same things.. though for some versatility, friars have high evade, while wardens get a shield (which is SOME defense), higher parry, pbt, etc.

We both get buffs and heals

we both get haste

and I noticed we both look pretty good on paper with the following spec:

11 parry
44 blunt
45 nuture
16 regrowth

any ensight on this? was just messing about and got curious :)

edit - just noticed, 34% haste at 45 nuture with a 10 minute duration?? umm.. That's better than a Friar's emergency haste at 45 enhancement.. and that only lasts 30 seconds.. is this really right? :eek7:

You'll find the warden to deal a whole lot less damage than a friar. If I were you I'd take weaponspec up to 25ish and focus on regrowth from then (max nurture). A warden is no damage dealer, and a healing warden will be very much appreciated.

There are some viable fighter-warden templates around but I'd just stick with healing/bubbling.

Warden not only deals less damage, but defense is much worse. You get Evade 5 ( if I'm right ?), that's 25% chance to avoid an attack ( modified by dex/qui, where you have a self-buff iirc), we get an untrainable shield, which is 5% chance to block ( modified by dex, which doesn't rise while lvling up). Additionaly you are wielding a 2-handed weapon, which reduces the enemies chance to parry by 50%, whereas shield/1-handed gives no penalty to enemy defense. I think this makes up for our higher haste and pbt.
The spec you posted is poo imo, as you miss out on the last 3 resist-buffs, and as mentioned before the high weapon-spec is wasted with such a low damage-dealing class.

Yep, battle warden isn't worth it imo, far better to be a good support class, my best heal tops at 421 and I can cast that enough times to be worth speccing for.

With 25 weapon spec I can taunt, interrupt casters and fight a bit when I have to but there are classes far better suited to melee than a warden so let them do it.

Grouping wardens need to not die, specially in rvr, so a tanking warden is a liability. If you die, your group loses buffs/resistence buffs/pbt and backup healing/rezz ability.

I took blades to 21 for Horizon Blade and Fire Blade, can see no reason to raise blades further.

no it is not, and neither does dex affect blocking ability for classes that cannot spec shield.

Btw. it's extraordinary for a warden to hit over 200 damage on a yellow con mage, don't think friars can say the same :)
