Warriors Engage abilitie

What does the Engage abilitie do, i have no idea.
He just take his weapon and stands there....

Anyone know, plz enlighten me

Best used against archers. You have 90% chance of blocking arrows with shield against Archers I think and it uses a small amount of endurance when blocking.

engage increases chance to block but means you can't attack, to use against archer is a waste of endurance, with shield equipped you block every arrow anyway, only function for it really is at start of duels, engage to be sure of getting a block then brutalise, but with 50shield you can be sure of getting a block early in duel without it anyway so it's pretty pointless

.... if the scout/archer is more then 700 away, then the reactive is crap...

normally a scout/archer is at max range, which is a bit more then 700 ...!

the range is bugged, can proc DoT on them at their max range etc

I sometimes use it while the ram operators are busy on the doors and the archers pick me as a target from the keep wall. Gives me something to do while the doors go down. It's not like I will kill anyone with the proc anyway

It was supposed to be used as a crowdcontrol tool in pve.
You guard the puller and press engage on one of the adds, then block him while other group members kill the other mobs, is sort of a poormans mez, but it takes practice and everyone needs to be aware of what you are doing, since any attack on the engaged target breaks the engage. And you lose one damage dealer when using that tactic.
I did use it a few times with my thane and it works ok, have blocked a drakulv in malmohus until he got bored and walked home again.


And it is good against archers also, but dont tell anyone

Im not sure if a reactive proc on shield will break engage since it is in theory a attack on the archer, but what do I know, I stay away from anyone with the options to spec shield anyway.
And maybe it is only melee attacks that breaks it.

And reactives on shield does only for obvious reasons work in pvp

i use it quite some time depending on the situation.
Example of this when you are pulling a hard mob with a group and mobs add, you can take the big mob urself, taunt it, engage.

Now your friends can beat the adds down, and when they are done you can together work on the big mob.
Have done that a couple of time when CC have failed.

Also pvp i use it regulary against archers, and sometimes against tanks, and keep them busy.
