low lvl shade???
you sem to be quite high level to me, and us shades do some serious damage to most targets, as well as our 6 second stun.

I really don't see how anyone can't want to group us.

On a more serious and proper note, this is the behaviour Df inspires, it lets all the evil out and makes people hate <kinda like the stream of ectoplasm in ghost busters two> and its all down to the fact that the person who is invited may comprimise Exp slightly or takes a seal more then anyone else.

Can you tell i dislike the place?

well when i'm allowed to play games on the computer again you will always be welcome to all my groups, as you always have been since thidranki :)

Maedhros it's not only NS at lvl 40 that don't get groups in DF :(

Last night after we had taken crim and fixed the access to DF I ran to the relic keep to get in. There I joined up with a guildie lvl 48 Warden and we tried to get a group since I saw that many ppl were going on some Duke hunt. After several minutes of yelling we still couldn't find a group (A lvl 48 Hybrid Hero and a lvl 48 Warden). Well I decided to tag along anyway but my friend gave up on it :(

Finally when we were at the bottom there was somebody who had a place due to a ld death or something so I got a group.(Many thx to my good friend Trelawney)

So don't be sad if you don't get a group in there because it's very often even I don't get a group. Btw I love Nightshades

:fluffle:

One more thing, when I was around 40 I think I hunted Pooks and bears at Innis do ppl still do this??? I never see any ppl there :(

Hiyas Maedhros,

although I have met many great peeps in hibland
:)clap: to all who can recognize themselves)

i have seen lot of arrogance too, or simply lack of manners, like in your case, a simple "sorry, we 're full" would do...

Unfortunately some ppl forgot there was a day they were lv 1 too,
and treat lower lvls like they did not deserve a respect at all
sometimes it makes me upset..well :(

take care

If this is happening then people in Hib should take a look at themselves... We are lacking in stealthers and losing many wars due to the fact that we have about 4 shades up against 10 Sb's/YMCA's and that just ain't gonna work.

People need to stop being so selfish and help fellow hibs out no matter what level, class or anything..

Anyone you get saying that you are too low/high/wrong class/wrong this/wrong that/wrong anything is crap, a group is a group and that is fact. Only the other day I was in a group with 3 level 50's, 1 level 37, 1 level 10, 1 level 5 and 1 level 1....
Now anyone want to tell me that no-one was getting xp because it was GREAT for all... it was just down to good players knowing their role and doing good job.

1) HELP SHADES/RANGERS OUT, they do more damage than any of you tanks would like to admit and in fact can get agro off you REALLY easy if they felt like it

2) HELP HIBERNIA OUT, wtf is it with people turning others away just cos you think you won't have the most uber xp group ever?? you turn the wrong people away you might be pissing off an alt whose main can quite easily affect the rest of your Hibernian life :p
(yeah I've got a shade alt who no-one likes to group with either)
(yeah maybe those people who won't group with him will get a middle finger when they next want my help in rvr or xp groups) ;)

The level 10 was Teador! Long live the manachanterluribomb and he'll soon be kicking alb asses all over town! (btw he is already a fair bit higher than 10 by the time you read this)

In my book anyone who helped open Darkness Falls gets preference for a group spot in there - the lame-asses who were sitting outside the entrance waiting for the others to do the work can go hunt Legion - solo :)

As for Nightshades in general -

There seems to be this idea going round that shades (and rangers) are no good in xp groups, almost because they are so good in RvR. Wrong. Shades make excellent secondary tanks - like blademasters, they've traded some defensive ability for increased damage output, which means they help take mobs down fast and pull aggro off the healers and casters very easily. In level 40+ groups the shade has Evade VI, which stops as many attacks as a 50 spec in shield (more because shades tend to have higher dex than heroes) - combined with a warden's bubble I've seen NS tank effectively for Cursed Forest groups).

When I organise hunts for Guardians of Somnaire, the only criterion I apply is a safety one - you must be within shouting distance of a level that can survive where we're going. Rather than make the group fit some straightjacket tactic I prefer to see if we can come up with tactics that suit the team available. And on those occasions we have a few group slots left over for non-guildmembers, shades are as welcome as anyone else.

I had a really long post in reply to this but I pressed esc and it clears it. bah.

main points:
- I dont think people intentionally break up groups when they get to df, but what tends to happen is 2 or 3 people tend to leave for guild groups or want to group with friends makiung the group you are in not viable and then it breaks and you have to find another spot.
- Same thing happened to me 2 or 3 times after I helped get access ... annoying but remember that people are alot less discerning about rvr groups ... at least in my experience ... there is no way some of the people who are in rvr groups would group together for exp ... means much less stress getting rvr groups ... almost anyone will group with you ... but it means that when you change mode for df to exp groups ... people want to join other ones that are more exp centric ... also ... in rvr it tends to be everyone in one super group (via cg) so doesnt matter which group you are in ,,, but in df its every group for them selves ... so people would like to be with friends

(bah just got killed in game guess I shouldnt go afk outside crauch ... and again)

- finally , I had a point about fins groups ... probably the most fun exping I was ever involved in was the 4 days I went from 49-50, we basically had 2 groups and balanced the damage so that both groups got around the same exp. This had huge benefits

1) we all got reasonably good exp
2) meant we could take 16 people so more people were happy
3) Group was functional with anywhere from 10-16 people ... this meant we could keep exping even as people left ... so no more waiting at cain for 1 vital person to come from the bog
4) linked to 2 ... MUCH less stress getting a group .... eliminating the annoying part of exping as you were in a group in the time it takes to run from cain to cf

We probably made less exp over time while we were actually fighting ... but more over total time as there was no standing around waiting for people

We also had a system where we would all leave from 6 - 7 for dinner and be able to know that the group would be there when you come back ... nothing more annoying than leaving for dinner and getting no group when you come back

Unfortunately, seems people stopped doing it soon after I dinged 50. I think it needs 2 honest people (maybe the 2 group leaders) that everyone trusts to honestly say how much exp each group is getting in order to keep it balanced.

Well this is almost as long as my original.

Oh and I also had a reference to the fact that the first diamond seals I got were by being one of the lamers waiting at the portal

and also a reference to how much damage a shade can do ... if I applied my DOT with detaunt I still had to switch mobs in a fins group or I would draw aggro ... was getting quite good at it ... DOT + detaunt, switch mob and weapon DOT + detaunt , then melee on 3rd target ... when leeching like this I could make maybe 70% of what I would make if I was in the group ... it also meant that when I had to tank when 1 more mob than usual came ... there was no way in hell the mob would aggro on anyone ... I didnt have to taunt and could do my evade chain

Think thats all .... they really need to fix that so esc doesnt wipe your message
