Warden Thornweed Field

I was trying The thornweed field ability from the warden, its really fun has something to use when u are defending a keep or look a zerg raze but do u peeps thinks that it really is good enougth to spend 14 points???

I love it , its fun to be in a keep and plonk it on the front door when its being attacked, hitting 40 albs / mids for 80 / 130 per tick, 5 times :)

I love twf ( :

- excellent to disturb casters
- excellent to make your getaway (35% snare)
- excellent to get an edge in a duel if you need it (but then again, IP gives an even better edge)
- excellent for keep defense
- excellent for keep offense
- excellent to get to invaders who are hiding inside a milegate room (because it's gtaoe)
- excellent to harvest some rps

but:

- aweful mezzbreaker
- takes time to set target, and if you miscalculate or wait too long, you either die or set it off without hitting anything.
- pulls aggro of all nearby mobs. It covers quite a large area
- 30 minute timer
- costs 14 rps. Ignore pain and purge were serious contestants for my rps, but I chose TWF. Didn't regret it, and I've nearly got enough rps for IP now ( ;
- Dunno if it was this patch (if so, I didn't notice), or next patch, but the twf damage will be nerfed a bit. Currently it does 80-130 aoe dmg to lvl 50's, 5 times every 6 seconds.

Its damage will not be nerfed.. it was accidently raised to twice the damage in a sub-patch of 1.52, it was reset in a later sub-patch therefore it's in the 1.52 patch notes that the values were reduced..
It's snare however will get nerfed and people will be able to run through it without actually getting snared.

More bad points:
- No snare/damage first tick
- Can get resisted or something (pbaoe casters know what I mean, that when you're right on top of 3 mobs/albs/mids and nuke and you only hit 2 and you get no resist message or anything for the 3rd)
Usually you hit people for 3-4 ticks. (this could be lag prediction code that puts someone OUTSIDE the region while he really is in the region)

Anyway, it's a really fun and useful ability but I don't like to think of it as a must-have because it's got too many disadvantages and really never saves lives and its 30 minute timer and 14 points cost is just too much for me.. (unless you don't have a mezzer then its interruption of mages could save you)

But then again, i also think a regrowth warden is good :)

PS: my record was 80 albs in one tick :)

the snare first tick is prolly gone be fixed in a patch (Neill -TL warden- did some research on it ). Got TWF and tbh its just a lot of fun if you set it of the right place/time. Saving for IP tho cause it let me survive 5 sec longer ;)

I did not want to use 14 points in TWF and i am managing very good with my RA's, going for iP as soon as i get the rp's collected.

And I think I will keep my spec for now, untill 1.53 gets here and I check out the new Parry rules. I would really like to have all the resist buffs high tho, so Nurture 49 is also a option...
