Hello and thanks for reading...

Now I have watched some of the movies people have made of their toons, playing around in DAOC.
I wanted to do that aswell, just for the fun of it!

I have obtained the full version of FRAPS 2.0.0, and a freeware version of 2.7
but the problem stayed the same....

When I ran FRAPS without recording it was showing 25 FPS, but the secound I start recording it drops to 2-5 FPS, and everything lags... Also the part recorded ofcourse...

I have tried in,
Windowed mode: 12-something x 9-something, 1024x768, 800x600
Normal mode: 12-something x 9-something, 1024x768, 800x600
(all eyecandy turned on, at all times tho)
with both versions and the outcome is the same...

I got a Pentium 4, 3800 Northwood on a 800MHz FSB, duallayered motherboard and 1gb RAM Dual sided with cobber-plated shielding.
My GFX card is a ATI Radeon 9800 XXL, 128 Mbyte ram

Any ideas whats wrong, or can you suggest another program to use?

I used FRAPS on my older computer back with TOA was released, and was no problem (except PC was too slow to run DAOC properly with more than 32 people casting spells)

1) Buy fraps
2) Update graphics drivers
3) Learn what is actually inside your pc >< afaik a 9800 "xxl" never existed, nor did they produce 3800 northwood core P4s, wtf is a dual layered motherboard? etc
4) record to a different hdd than what your playing from. Record at 1024 x 768 @ full size.

Mayhaps he meant Medion Radeon 9800 XXL? And im quite sure they produced Pentium 4 3.4GHz "Northwood".

As to the main topic, upgrading graphic drivers had the magic touch on my fraps.

You really need to update graphics drivers, google and read up on what to do (ati driver cleaner + omega drivers)

One hdd split into multiple partitions doesnt make a difference, it really helps if you have two drives since that way the data is being written to another drive that isnt in use for anything else (i.e daoc)

well I found out my current driver is 6.14.10.6426, newest driver i found was 6.14.10.6476 or something... but I cant seem to find a place to download the driver... and people cant seem to agree if its a 9800xt or a 9800pro, which makes it even harder for me to choose which one to use :/
