I bought a ps3 yesterday and i was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to set up a vpn on it so i can get iplayer etc. I pay for a vpn service that i have set up on my pc. I googled it and the results were inconclusive and im at work so cant try it! Has anyone done it before?

Not sure you can create a VPN on a non-rooted PS3. Certainly not seen anything myself.

Looking for the same thing myself. The only way I could think of doing it was at the router level, but that would be a bit of a pain in the arse.

That said if you have a powerful enough NAS or a server you could probably just set up your own proxy

As I said earlier I do not think it is possible without jailbreaking the PS3, otherwise you are limited to
  1. The router.
  2. Another system behind your router which you would point the PS3 to as the default gateway.
I'll have a think about this tomorrow and possibly setup a "public" VPN server and do some testing with my PS3.
