I was piloting a gunship, completly filled out of spaces, was moving off wiv me thrusters when some idiot jumps on it - and he got killed. I'd only been on the map a couple of minutes, suddenly I find myself under a vote ban from this twat, and like sheeps the rest of the fucking people vote yes.

he, he. i dunno bout tribes, but you get that kinda shite all the time with CS. if you are any good or have an iq above 50 then sum1 sooner or later will start accusing you of all kinds of bollox and initiate a vote to kick ya. usually a vote dont succeed but you always get some tossers who jump on the bandwagon.....

maybe you should write down his nick and start a hate campaign on every forum in the universe or look out for him on another server and return the compliment...

And how, over the last 2 nights iv'e been subjected to massive cheating claims. non of which have any bearing, barr the fact i repeatedly killed the offender over and over

As i remember it, i had a far worse time in quake 3, when that first came out. I would get kicked just for guarding weps in team games, and just for being an LPB

realy sad, but iv'e been there, it was even on my home isp's server i got kicked from over and over

voting on barrysworld counterstrike servers are disabled, so you need not worry about them and thats only a kick as well this was a ban

AFAIK kick gives a short ban so you can't get back immediately, ban lasts for a whole day or something like that.

Theres also a banlist which is permament bans but thats only going to be used for real trouble makers.

A guy on megagame called Biggz called a vote to ban a m8 of mine called Dr.Gonzo. Gonz killed him and another guy with a mortar, but he was spamming from miles away cause we were playing with the laser targeter. It passed. I couldn't believe people are so freaking sheep-minded. Yeah there were 2 TKs in the console, but christ almighty. I didnt retailiate by TKing, I simply asked him why he banned, pointed out that was only ONE TK, he claimed gonz was TKing lots, when I asked "Who's been following him the whole game, you or me?" (obviously me).
He told me to blame everyone else who voted yes, to which I replied people vote w/o looking most of the time, so I blamed him. He asked "Why dont you vote to ban me then". I didn't even tho I was bloody tempted, cause it was doubtful that would fix anything and if the fine people here at BW are able to look over the logs or something I doubted that would help my case.
I was asking how long a ban lasted which he replied "Dont know, dont care" before starting a vote to ban me. Now I hadn't TKed or voted to ban him at all. It bloody well passed. People dont read what they're voting for unless its a goddamned map change.
I'm sorry about all the ranting but even tho I refused to stoop to his level hes the one whos gonna be playing tribes tonight while I'm typing this. I dont see the justice there, and I'll be damned if I dont at least vote to kick the guy the next time I see him.

Unless I see for myself what is going on, I always vote NO. If I see that it is a repeated TKer, then I'll go with a KICK. I'll always vote against a BAN.

Bert, I would imagine that long distance spamming (your own word) into areas where your team mates are stood may well have been annoying, perhaps you should try more team friendly tactics.

You're right people do kick first at the moment but the intollerant people will soon either mellow or go back to less team based games.

I agree with Zenith... I always vote NO unless i've seen someone purposely TK'ing... then yes to a kick, not ban... you may be banning someone's who's just let their kid brother / sister play for a while... who knows ??

Yeah voting for bans at this stage should be a NO-NO. There are a lot of idiots out there who think its funny to explode Demolition charges in the middle of an Inv Q in their own base or use a mortar similarly. A kick at this stage will do. In a few weeks when we learn who the 'real' idiots are, the name; GermanTrooper comes to mind from T1, well then we can start to exercise the Ban for a Day option.

In other words lads, don't kick the newbies just cos they can't shoot straight and if u did'nt see the TK look WHO is asking for the kick before you vote yes.

I've voted yes on a few bans - especially this early on - if people get the message that Tkilling isn't on - and we get the floods of moaners saying "I got banned but it wasn't my fault" that I'm expecting we'll get then maybe Tkillers will stop almost completely.

Harsh action is required against such a stupid enjoyment-runining practice.

I DO tend to look at the persons score and scroll back up the history before I would vote for such a thing - and would only vote Yes to a ban if it's blatant.

Also - people who turn around and start tkilling the teamkiller - I have no sympathy for people like that - it encourages the tkiller more and also removes another useful player from your team.

Most of the time I'd vote to kick someone.

It's not going to work all the time, and logs can be checked if needed (and if kept). People are gonna get banned when they're not supposed to be - but that's a small price to pay (and a small risk to take for each of us) when it comes to stamping out such an idiotic method of "play".

hmmm... i dunno... if i get banned from a server for one accidental tk, i won't go back to that server ever... banning is a bit harsh imo... kick - sure, ban - no Do you really want to chase all the newbies away ??

Yep as i was playing an a 64 player server last night, i was subject to a nasty kick vote my crime, i was flying a bomber, and i crashed it The fact i had flown it around the enemy base 5 times, without being shot down, even though i had no thrusters, or tail gunner with flares, and little mountain cover, the only way to avoid the missle locks coming my way was to ditch it low, and turn hard at the last minute,on the small mounds that were available, a top very difficult thing to do that made little odds to my stupid team m8, who didn't even fire one bomb, only that crappy plasma gun even though i had flown it over a vehicle point crowded with players 4 times and performed a bleeding miricle to keep it flying. Thank god the vote failed
