I have a nicey p3-500 and a nicey monitor. I also have a nicey voodoo3 card, which quite sadly, does not like quake2. Ughhhh.

It will run 640* res fine, and 800*, but anything higher it either looks utter rubbish (the screen buggers up) or it goes into software mode, just like it did when you tried to run 1024* with your voodoo2 card

It runs all other progs fine at these high resolutions (i.e. UT, flight 98, q3)

I have 128mb ram, and win98, which runs in 1280* and 32bit color. My monitor is good enough to run the high resolutions (although it is using the standard plug and play monitor drivers), but its just q2 it has trouble with

Any advice welcome, don't tell me to buy a TNT2 cause its too late now

U see... i run my V3 at upto 1280*1024 on my monitor...

1024*768 is the most popular setting and fast too.

Have you got latest drivers? If not get em quick! With these drivers ive got most stable system ive ever had and works with absolutely everything.
Bet TNT owners wish they could say that. hehe
Try reinstalling minigl.
Pull down console and type vid_restart.
If this not work then try going into control panel, display, advanced, monitor and change monitor to 1024 x 768 @ 75hz or if ya need to use at higher res then select 1280 x @ (refresh rate).
Hope this is of some help,

Rockhard

P.S. If you get overclock utility for Voodoo3 and set to 180mhz (youll need fan on vid card!) you will get at least 57fps in crusher.dm2 and 102fps in demo1.dm2 @ 1024 x 768! Thats on a Celeron 450 so your 500 PIII should be a tad quicker.
