Hi all,

I'm about to order the DAoC double pack but I am curious to know if my graphics card will still work?

I know on the developers website, it says it doesn't support any of the voodoo cards anymore.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems with the Voodoo 5500? How did you solve it ingame and did it work?

Thanks, and please reply back as soon as possible,

Voodo uses glide , DAOC will not support glide.
I think you can get some sort of OpenGl drivers for the voodoo cards somewhere, but I'm not sure.

Then you might be in with a chance.

I don't think I understand :D

Voodoo uses glide, and DAoC doesn't support it. Are there any other drivers out there, from voodoofiles.com maybe that can sort out the problem? Please recommend me some drivers..

But even if DAoC does not support Glide, it will support other options right? Like Direct3D or OpenGL?

That's my point, The stock Voodo card doesn't come with opengl installed as default.
You need to download them.
From where I'm not sure, (I haven't owned a voodoo card for ages) but I guess voodoofiles.com would be a good start to look.
I dunno if you can get direct3d drivers for the voodo cards, my guess is you can't, but I could be wrong.

I just checked, your card SHOULD support OpenGL AND Direct 3d.
But maybe you need to enable it in the video card settings.

I just downloaded this the Voodoolizer 1.05.00 for Win9x...
I can't post the URL cause the forum won't let me yet...

Look at the details, it says it's directx 8.1 compatible.

You think this is good enough and how do I go about in installing the drivers?

Directx 8.1 will be fine for your purposes, hell my card doesn't support any greater than directx 8.1
If you want a card that supports greater than that, you gotta buy one of the latest cards.

Actually, DAOC doesn't use and features greater than DX8.1 anyway, well until the foundations update anyway.

Well, I've just ordered the 'Dark age of Camelot and Shrouded Isles Double Pack' for 20 quid on gameloaded.co.uk

If I can't play it with my normal original 3dfx drivers, then I may have to upgrade to that new voodoolizer one...

When I open the zip folder though, it's got lots of files and I don't know what to do..

I just downloaded the voodoolizer, there's an Install.exe and a setup.exe.

Try clicking the install.exe (After you expand the files somewhere first) , that'll probably work.

Hmm, but do you need to uninstall the current voodoo drivers first before installing the new one's?

Probably, You can uninstall the drivers from the hardware manager, but I'm not sure if it actually deletes the files..
If not , just install straight form the new drivers, it'll probably be OK.

Hmm, I can play the dark Age of Camelot but I can't play the expansion, whenever I load up, it boots me back to desktop.

Well, I've tried what you said and double clicked on the installation thing for voodoolizer. However, that only installs the tools. There is another folder where there are the drivers but I can't seem to install them. It says I'm missing NEWDEV.DLL

Help :(

Well, if it doesn't setup the device automatically, try updating the drivers and point it towards the location of the place where you unpacked the drivers..

Didn't reply earlier as I forgot about this thread, and I only recently checked my messages.
