doesent work with via chipset AT ALL.
( AGP versions of v3 only )
urr 16 bit colour
no other cool effects that the tnt2 has, but its fast.
also u should wait, caus the next gen cards should be out soonish
nvidia geforce ( with its own geomitry hardware ) and a new 3dfx one ( very fast fill rate but top secret still )
so wait.

err i can get an oem for 90 quid, and they DO work on all SS7 chipsets... know why? cuz the bugger doesnt even use full AGP!! It just sits in the slot and soaks up the extra bandwidth from the AGP bus...

Wait for the GeForce if you have the cash, retail will be about £220 for the first models.

Or go for a G400 which everyone appears to have overlooked entirely (Dual monitor out ) which will retail for about £189-£229 depending on the model (I think)

The GeForce looks to be the best tho. Apparently it is more powerful on its own than a CrayX2 is with all 128 Processors running in it! Madness...

I got both a V3 2000 PCI (for my old PC) and a TNT2u and tbh, apart from richer colours there really seems to be little difference when you allow for the fact that the TNT2u is AGP. I agree with the sentiment that you should wait for the next gen cards even if this is just for the big drop in prices youll get with the older cards.

I think you should do some research on the S3 Savage 2000 parts meself... maybe they could twat the GeForce about...

I think savage 2000 will be for me as long as S3 write some decent drivers for a chnge ffs grrrr

V3's aint that shite BTW, mines fine... still, I need at least 150fps at 1024*768...
