Never again!
Barr the fact everybody on the server wasn't talking about the game in the slightest way at all. One noone gobbing off sounded over the age of 14, and two they seemed like they were having some sort of compettion of who could sound like a teletubbie the most.
I now know deep down the type of people im playing these so called 'team games' with. Nothing but an imature bunch of kids:p

Over and Out:p

Wouldn't it be frightening if someone sounded like ur girlfriend having cyber with another guy and u were playing on the same game?

If you click the mouse while looking at the scores, it should bring up a mouse pointer you can use to mute other players by clicking on the speaker icon next to their name.

Yeah they did 2 years ago when i used to watch my brother using roger wilco in his quake 2 clan games. We never used it, because we worked out what we were doing before hand, and practiced it 4 times a week:eek:. But the quality of Rw was good, you could actually make out what people were saying.

If this is what there going to using in the 'new' game Tf2, then valve are nothing but a bunch of tools. Imho if this is the netcode/voice comms and it seems most of the rest of the stuff they have mashed onto the old halflife/q2 engine, then it's going to be one of the most piss poor games ever. Most people put up with the netcode/engine poor performance because it's old tech, but if what valve are doing is bolting all this rubish into a game, then they can forget it. Don't let your obsession with the game blinker the truth, it's a realy wank situation, valve are taking the piss.

Roll on global ops:)

is there a way to completely turn the voice comms off so that you dont have to mute everybody individually? I've tried disableing voice comms in halflife/multiplayer/customize but this just means i cant talk (doesn't it?) i can still hear others talking!

Go into the cfg file in your tfc/cs folder, and turn anything in the list that has the word 'voice' listed to '0' from '1'.
Just open any text doc in the in the dir, and drag and drop the config.cfg file to do this. Can't remember the exact lines your looking for, im on another machine atm, but it works for me. Silence is golden as they say:).

I just dont use it at all, played last night and this mornin, all the people could talk was not game related(thats what this voice comm was added for, team talk etc... but no one, on any server i have seen seems to be using it for that purpose. Voice comms was a pointless addition and wastes needed b/w. Roger wilco is far better.
In fact, 1.3 as a whole was a disaster, far too many problems and lots of people seem to be complaining, therefore, showing that it is a load of ****
