I gather that DAOC will not have proper Vista compatibility with Vista until 1.88. I think it was in a grab bag before christmas.

Okay Skar thanks :) Just wondering if I should install it now, seeing I don't have anything to do untill the 1st, seeing as exams are over hehe.

Ive got vista running at work now on a 2n hdd - its got some serious compatibility issues with a lot of software. Will take a while i think until its up to the usable standard that XP is.

Seems to be a user rights issue at the minute aswell - as soon as it joins a domain a lot of options become greyed out as if you dont have admin rights - although you do :) Not looked properly into the settings as yet though. Theres a few other niggling things about it too that i dont like. Having said that the general interface is quite nice imo.

Definitly won't bother with it at home for some time.

I have tried vista a bit, It does look nice and is relatively stable. At this point in time there isnt a compelling reason to upgrage but as soon as DX10 gets released I will certainly being moving to it.

I would think about upgrading if you get the chance. XP is faster and more stable than 2000. Windows2000 also force installs IE6 unless you use a cracked version and 2000 is not compatable with IE7. Most people in the IT business will highly recommend XP as being the best OS for both corporate and gaming use.

The OS may seem stable, but the performance of the gfx drivers is leaving something to be desired. Definitely going to allow 6 months on this one to allow everything to bed in.

My PC is to play games on, not come home from work and arse around with things on the OS. Anyway little article with stats on the performance of the current round of GFX drivers.
