I think a lot of Guardians of Power were looking at SWG -- but the *cough* woeful reviews have put a number of them off. Frankly the game looks insipid and poorly thought out.

So no large scale presence there for a while at least...

DAOC is still a good game, but the content is lacking. After 18 months of playing I'm bored and have pretty much done it all. SWG has as much content at launch than daoc has after 18 months, and it seems to be run properly with very frequent patches and no stupid franchise operation meaning that all servers get patched together with the same level of support.

Don't get me wrong, I still think DAOC is a good game. Definately has one of the best PvP implementations I've ever seen, but the rest of the game is relatively poor in comparison to the rest of the competition.

And as for the people above who say the graphics are poor, then all I can say is see it in motion and not static photos and you'll see that it blows daoc away.

It's a Verant game which should set off the alarm bells of....oh TENS OF THOUSANDS OF EQ CUSTOMERS

Their customer support pretty much went to the shitter with that game.

Anyway having said that I'm still buying and trying - and reserving final judgement until then.
