Virus please help...

Right, I need some help, I don't know where to go really, to ask about this, so erm... HELP ME PLEASE!!!.

Well, atm I'm on my bro's PC atm, my PC is not sharing on the network so gg me for killing a possible help option. It's not loading from the Start up screen, it's dormant. I've tried Safe mode, that sucks. My Intellimouse is not detected through the USB. When I try to run any program, I am confronted with WinZip starting up-ish. The one time it did load up to Windows normal, I kept getting 'Internet explorer error'.

Before all this began, I was just having problems with file icons and them not opening or responding. Then it all went pear shaped when my brother decided to update my virus checker then restart, then bang, present day.

Can anyone identify this virus, give me a cure, tell me where to ask/look, please .

What virus? I don't see anything in your post that points to a virus (unless you missed something out).

BTW, you should have gotten a ps2 adapter with your intellimouse. Try plugging that in. Safe mode will be a tad easier to navigate then.

I'm really poorly acquainted with my Pc's exact specs. What else do you want to know? I'm not sure how my Pc's specs will tell you anything :/.

whoever named the ps2 mouse socket should've bin shot. It really annoyed me a few weeks ago when I was looking for a ps2 intellimouse, asked a member of staff and was pointed to the playstation accessories section, a place i normally wouldn't be seen dead in.

Win98, res in 1024x728, soundcard is erm... some crappy one, doesn't matter. Programs I have running... erm Morpheus, hell, there's too many to name, Virus scheduler and things.

Dunno, just try reinstalling the OS back ontop of itself, that way any corrupt files will be replaced and your pron collection shouldn't be touched.
