Virtual Cd Program

We have a piece of software that requires the CD to be in the drive to use.

due to our CD-Roms being locked down for security we cannot just burn the CD's and hand them out to peeps when they need to use the application.

What I am after is a Virtual CD application that will work under Windows 95 and is free to download. Something simple.

If not free then a small charge for a site licence would be ok.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Daemon Tools will do it. I'm sure you can use Google to find it, I'm feeling lazy.

I use alcohol 120% for stuff like that.

I don't "remember" how much it cost me though.

CloneCD has a Virtual Drive element, not sure of the site license costs though.

I've been using Original CD Emulator for the last few months, it worked well on both Windows 98SE and XP Pro, and I have yet to find a CD I cannot "burn" with it.

It still looks a bit amateurish, but I have not had any problems with it so far, I did actually pay for it (on special offer) and there is a network version too.

Certainly works with; BF1942, NWN, Civ3.

I would never have use for anything like that, but I do have Alcohol 120%, and for what I've used it for (bare minimum), it's an excellent program.

Of course the is VirtualCD, but you'll have to pay for it if you like it ... they also have a version which works across networks. I don't believe anyone has mentioned ImageDrive which comes with the Nero CD Burn program.

Im with Will 'n Kameleon, Daemon Tools is a great piece of kit, im not too certain on its stablity within Win95 tho. use it all the times on Win2ksrv and WinXPpro and its never caused a problem.

Daemon tools sticks itself into your system tray and you can control it all from there, to adding and removing the iso's, to setting how many drives you need and various other stuff.

its url was www.daemon-tools.com but the sites dead/down/fubar so you might need to google for other sites.
