What really gets me about stuff like this is when they say playing violent games trains you in the use of weapons. Not sure how moving a crosshair on a screen with a mouse teaches me to correctly operate, aim and control a real life firearm but apparently it does.

Thats a load of crap!

I did some work at an arms manufacturer in South Africa. They produced guns etc for the police and army.

I got to shoot a police hand gun and a shotgun. None of my games playing prepared me for how to shoot these weapons properly. Only after a little bit of guidance did I start hitting the middle of the target.

I just found it quiet funny when the chap says "You need three things to kill people. You need a weapon, you need the skill, and you need the will to kill. Video games provide two out of the three.". Am I the only one who can't figure out whih three video games provide? weapon no, skill no, will no, go figure.

Imagine you just bought one of the really old flight sim games. That game with a manual 300 pages thick. Drop that on someone and BLAM, you got a weapon. Now, play the game for long enough, and you got the motivation to kill someone, anything's gotta be better than old flight sims.

GO FIND SOME SKILL AND WE ARE TALKING MASSACRE!

I'd willingly kill a numetal-kiddie with surprising amounts of skill. but then I've had a massive amount of beer so I'd prolly botch it :/

I reckon they should make games with guns in them as violent and as blood thirsty as possible.

Like on cs.. u shoot somebody countless times and u get a few drops of blood. It's not like that in real life, if u were to shoot somebody theyre guts fall out and blood spews everywhere.

Maybe then kids would realize that real life is not a game.

Or proof that the youth of today is the scourge ... of today :/

you know, scourge is one of those words that if repeated mentally for a while begins to sound silly and foreign and nonsensical. I like those words, they're fun.

LoL! My strange views on things are great.

Nahh really i think computer games should be banned for everyone. If they were i'd probably have a bit more of a life, be a bit more social an actually have a brain. Although I'd probably be a bit more bored at home.

You have to remember that when he says guns give someone the skill, hes taking that from American society, which is already likely to be trained to shoot. Games give the tactics is what he is talking about.

Not that I agree, just that the point doesn't convert too well to UK society.
