Video probs.

K guys, I did have 45 fps on CS, but since XP Pro installed, now only 35 (neithers very good, but playable).
Cards a TNT2, 850 Tbird with 390ish Meg ram.

Any Ideas.

PS, ne1 played Return to Castle Wolfenstein? Know any servers?

Did you install the nVidia drivers or use the ones that came with XP ?

(the XP default ones suck goats btw)

ur, right, they do. So I updated to the detonator (?) drivers.

wilier mate id go buy a gf2mx video card.i got one with my p3 and can play at 99fps all the time if i want.(actually i normally leave vsync on at 60 but you get the point!)
the main point is they are like £69.99 nowadays so very good value.
i still want a gf2 ultra btw anyone know where i can get the best price?

It's the drivers.

I remember when i upgraded to the 20 series, my fps droped to the 30-40's, on a geforce 3

Back to the 12 series and all is fine 99fps:O

You are on windows XP.
Tut Tut Tut.
Been there, seen that, got the T-Shirt.
Formatted and went back to Windows 2000.
XP is a failure.
Crashes, game incompatabilities.
I would advise returning to your previous O/S.
All the fancy crap on Windows XP slows the system down along with all the shit running in the background.
If you dont give a shit and still want to be on WinXP (sad case if so then you can download the drivers here
These drivers support your TNT2 card.
Good luck and lemme know via PM, Email, ICQ or TXT what happens because thats another of the reasons I went back to windows 2000 (my card is a G-Force 2 MX 64 smegz card)

Thanks for the info,
The drivers you listed are actually the drivers which Im currently using, the Nvidia detonator ones.

But, ive solved me prob, I did have the FPS capped at 45, changed it to 60, and now alls well (dont ask why )
