Video Mech

I'm kinda n00beh when it comes to this kinda thing i've been editing some stuff recorded in thid using video mech and when i preview my movie without audio the quality is fine. However when I add audio to it the quality goes down not sure why and not sure if I can change it...anyone know how to get the quality higher ??
