Viable Midgard BG Chars?

With the Bg's as they are now there's only a few Midgard classes/specs that seem viable - No melee'rs have a chance v the number of casters/bolters/archers and at the standoffs at the MPK tanks just bring free rp :)

Stealthers do ok being able to sneak around the zerg to an extent.

Bolt using classes Runeys/Shaman are also fun but classes with only 1500 range effects are in trouble - Bonedancers etc are again pretty much free realmpoints in the usual standoff as to get in range they are basically dead from a shower of bolts.

Pac healer's are also in trouble v the Alb bolt range quickcastable mez.

Can anyone think of any other Mid classes that can compete atmo?

playing skald is BG can be extremely fun if you got a good gear and like to roam about.. have completed BG1 with 4 different skalds (call me insane if ya like) and I have brought down all classes I´ve met 1on1.

A supp runie could nearsight everyone then run in and start interrupting everyone with aoe dd and snare which should give the other classes a chance to get in range. Of course they are still vulnerable to stealthed scouts that don't get caught in the AOE radius. Having a warrior or a thane stick him and guard him with a shield would help.

Also shammies don't need to worry much about bolts in chain armour so if they can run in and manage to pull off an aoe dot without being interrupted - this causes much panic against alb zergs and tends to split them up - again allowing classes with less range to get in (also if u have good +pie and +cave and seeing as we have all the power relics one aoe dot should kill all the avalonians with no healer helping them ;)

Also don't forget catapults and ballistas - they are dirt cheap in thidranki, have a huge range, and gives tanks something to do during ranged standoffs.

We tried that last night but only got a couple of shots - the untrustworthy albs had fallen back to the CK for most of the time :(

I remember Aquatic when he used to run around with a dorf warrior, whose name escapes me :-(

Had fun fights with you as you seemed to play thid in a similar way to myself. Duo with someone, run around and don't hug the pack.

As far as casters go, fight fire with fire.

Runecarving is devastaing in the BG's. Suppression is also a great line, dd/snare is so much more effective against players its a shame there arn't more around.

Cave Shaman are good, but at 24 they are too specialised to for most, ppl will always expect you to heal and buff them no mater how little aug and mend you have.

And you cant ever go wrong with Pac Healers.

The Hibs also have some good options, if you can tear folks away from the pbaoe style of caster you would get a pretty effective component of ranged casters. Void spec should now be viable although my experience of pvp as a void eld was quite disapointing, Mentalists tho weakened since their moment of glory are still extremely flexible and important classes.

I've no real experience of Albion classes except as an opponent, but thats to change soon. I can tell you that Theurgists are scary with the extra elemental range but require a lot of downtime and a clever sorceror will really cause you trouble.

There are loads of other options for lots of other classes, why they dont get played is understandable, many are too hard to level or reliant on other classes. There are options, just need a few peep's to have a go @ a gimp :)

best bg char for mids is ....

a lvl 24 shaman

some decent gear some decent item

specced 23 cave for 2nd aoe DoT and 6 aug.

i got 375 rps yesterday with him then finally had to release for good.

i couldnt believe the death spam i created over there yesterday

felt good being the prime target for albs. hibs rarely showed up yesterday.

im not saying im uber cause i caped thid in 1 single day, im saying that since /level came around a lot of guys simply go for it at lvl 20 with only the 2nd hand clothes and take a beating.

I killed a few with the 1875 range bolt. some had taken hits and some were supprisingly weak and i actually 1 shoted 1 or 2.

But the real damage is the lvl 23 AoE DoT. Most of the enemies i meet simply couldnt take 4-5 Dots beating them for 65 dmg, thats like 240-300 dmg on them. most ppl dont have hps higher than 300 at lvl 20.

Shamans buffs and chain helps you stay alive a lot too. And of course i had a good party where healer was always targeting me, like i said i was main target for albs, so i could run up to them stop cast aoe dot 2 times and run back alive. that was it. a few moments later albs started droping like flies.

Totally agree.

Cave shammies rock in the bg, nice cc with ae root as well.

The bolts hurt and the dots hurt even more :)

Skald is probs the best solo char, many times have I been jumped by 2, 3 even 4 enemies and still won.
Spec 24 Hammer/Sword and rest in battlesongs for pure dmg output, was hitting most for 150+ dmg with my hammer spec Skald.
Capped out last night after I killed an Infil that PA'd me whilst resting, and killed a Ranger that crit shot me whilst resting after fighting the infil. :)

Rerolling again and using same kit but diff spec.
Watch out ;)
