VGA Boxes

I'm looking for a way to connect my xbox to a TFT monitor. I'm assuming that a VGA box from lik-sang or somewhere would allow me to do this, but I've got no real idea about what cables etc would be needed and if the end result would be any good.

Has anyone connected an xbox to a TFT/CRT before? Is the resulting picture quality decent? Do I need separate cables to go with a VGA box? Are there any VGA boxes that I should steer well clear of? Will Alfie start nailing little Mo?

Answers on a postcard!

The quality is astounding, it'll support HDTV (natch) but I'm not sure what you need to steer clear of. As for cables, you need the vga box and a vga cable and that's it (I think)

dont buy the rubbish from liksang, most vga boxes they do are crap.

get yor self the X2VGA+ ( you will need a modified xbox and switch to usa region for HDTV modes, uk game swill still play fine) its connected to my dell2001fp 20" tft and its fucking brill lets you play 480p, 720p if you have uber tft that supports 1080i res then it will display that as well. on crt you will be laffing as it should display all those modes but only dragons lair and atart ant have 1080i modes and 720p mode THUG2 looks like the dogs bollox.

. even tested a my uncles SONY HS50 projector with it and played bugs life dvd via xbmc and it looks quality for that as well.

DC is a unique console as it has in built vga support, the offical sega, or a 3rd party one for dc wil give you equal results.

as for gc/ps2 you need a component to vga convertor. you get mixed results with each game.

x2VGA+ is only sold by Neoya who also make the convertors. and the after sales support they give is exxellant.

Don't think there any TFT monitors that can do 1080i btw, you'll need a 1280x1024 unit just to do 720p.

there are a few 24"+ ones and the widescreen samsung, dell,lg,sony ones. but your looking at best part of £2k for most of em.

tho some 22 crt screens should have no problem with it. but having said that not many xbox games go that high.

Does anyone know where I can get a composite to vga then? They have them on lik-sang but they're about £40 and a total ripoff. I can't seem to find any anywhere else - anyone got any ideas? Cheers
