anyone know of somewhere i can get a 'trail version' of this software ? their site says that it doesn't exsist but i know it does coz my mate has a copy of it and i've seen it working...

There is no trial version, if your friend doesn't have a license it is illegal.

I dont know if it HAS to be this specific forum, but if not u can try out www.phpbb.com its free and very similar to this forum.

Simple Machines is great free forum software too - has a lot of features that are on par with vB, but without the licence fee

i've been paid now so i've treated myself to a years worth of vBulletin licence
