That's not abuse its just a way to get power back ie casters can rest and get power back but if vamp's rest there power goes down so thats why they kill grey mobs to get power back

he means when a vamp has over 14% power it will go down unless he is in combat, and a fully powered up vamp can be a bitch to fight ;P but doing that they lose speed, fair trade tbh

There speed aint that great, it aint even close to what caster speed is, its just a little faster then sprinting

Like Brite says, this is not similar to a Necro powertapping greys (which, btw, will result in power return capped at the level of the mob). Instead, the grey con mob is there only to keep the Vampiir in combat so that he doesn't lose the power he has accumulated by charging himself on real mobs. Nasty but innovative, and only likely to be effective on the PvP server.

Ive seen it happen on Avalon too though.Haven't seen too many vamps on Prydwen.

It's borderline cheating at best though. Vamps are balanced on the basis that they start out weak, but can grow strength during the fight. They circumvent that balance mechanism by abusing a simple in-combat bug.

My guess is, that it's getting fixed soon.

Its not cheating imo, its just taking advatage of a game situation Like someone sticking a green/grey mob to them to avoid getting mezzed.

Power regained by tapping a NPC is capped at the NPC's level. So either the necro would have to use a low level tap (low power usage) and tap a LOT of greys or use a big tap and use more power than that which is gained.

Vampiirs having a grey follow them around so they don't lose power does sound like an exploit to me though. Necro's tapping greys and getting full power back was considered an exploitable bug, hence why power taps are capped at the mobs level.

or getting a load of greys to hit your pet so when gamah mezzes them he mezzes mobs too and get aggroed and get wtfpwned by greys! or he has to use crappy duration rr5 ;P

It's been known for ages, it's a quite stupid thing to try and get advantage off. Our speed is shite, however it's better than nothing (and I'm only 13 sm spec).

that speed seemed pretty quick to me. sometimes when vamps want to retreat they use speed and if im sprinting/taunting them i still cant catch them..

Hmm, combat should be knocking the Vampiir out of speed, could be he is using Charge to get away from you.
