Varna said:Ye, but a BM reaver will be able to disable a Vamps tools. I.e if you remove his ability to cast spells using PL, then you remove alot of his tactical advantage in 1 v 1's, coupled with Grapple while he's in charge mode you can wait for charge to-go then slam him, sometimes if theyved been near mobs they'll just throw down end drain, which can be annoying but just spam powerleak and they aren't too much trouble. I've also beat many high rr vamps as BL and ended fights 90% hp+ while they've used IP2 etc, without using bomb or twf, so I don't think the ML abilities have much of an impact, I actually think it's an issue todo more with reavers typically having high shield and the viper chain-lifetap. I'm not boasting, as I'm sure plenty of other reavers find the same. I'm not too sure about the Prydwen vamps, but on excal this typically seems the case.
I'm up for doing some tests though ;-) Lemme know.

Mirt said:TWF3 + Grapple is a nasty combo, however that on it's own is not going to kill any decent vamp.
BM reavers are likely to try TWF3 + Grapple + rr5 + (fake) slam + levi + levi + levi, that combo if it lands will kill most things.
Vs Grapple:
You need to recognise you're grappled and go out of combat and drink a pot (either heal or end over time) and swap in and out something with a heal charge.
There is a 2s gap between you becoming ungrappled and them being unstunned, you can take advantage of this: when you think grapple is fading, turn off /face then sprint and hammer VF, the moment you move run though and land ES (likely the only ES you'll land unless you somehow land diamond back).
After TWF is gone, most players won't grapple again, and a reaver will either power leak (very expensive style end wise) or (fake) slam & levi.
So after you've (hopefully) landed ES, you need to hit ml4, cast fumble and end tap, and proceed to lag around him. If you get slammed you need to hold off on purge until you know if it's numb (fake slam with 2s stun and 10s immunity) or the real deal, if they manage to get a levi off purge and /face, then resume lag dancing. Note when lag dancing it's best to use side style backed up wih rear style, or evade with side style, as you won't be landing eye shot and they use much less end.
Reavers are quite beatable, although they're much more challenging then most other classes, and if you're RAs are down and they land slam you're done for.
One final thing, if you're solo you basically have no excuse for a reaver (or any tank) getting the jump on you - which means you should get power tap off and cast evade + parry before they close to melee range. If their purge is down, diamond back will let you get 2 eye shots off, add banespike (and possibly ws buff) and they're in a world of hurt.

WTF?
If purge is down - reaver > you in most cases.
If purge is up - you > reaver.
Not rocket science :xxx
Mirt said:It's not so cut and dried.
Vs a decent shield user you HAVE to lag dance, and if you're no good at it it doesn't matter what RAs you have up, as enage will block every melee attack from a vamp.
