Valk Temp with sun weapon

Well messed abit around with valk template now i got a lowbie valk. Was trying to make it cheap but somehow i ended with 3 DS items witch normally aint very smart, guess i gottta farm :m00:.
I know the SC aint the best, but coundt get it any better, and i got told the dex was more worth for defence than shield/parry.

Got abit wird melee ressist with 2H, but i guessed i would always switch asap to 1h when attacked anyway.

With 1h i got

Now dont get me wrong but you said comments :)

The bad points that i can see is that when your in two handed you dont have full str cap and your resists are a bit low <thrust and slash & cold mainly imo > but then again that could be solved by ditching the dex on the SC .

now that said , you are crapping artie charges ! which is always a good thing :)

all in all its a nice temp with high hits nad a nice weapon to use resist wise, and i know how hard a temp is to make with WH and MT in it (leaving only 3 parts for SCing stats / sists) not to mention PH in it to make it harder :)

Conclusion : the 10 Mins of dammage reduction and energy dammage alone would almost make me use this temp if i ditched the dex on SC :)

If your swapping to 2hander on solo purposes and your fighting a thrust inf or pierce nightshade with 17 thrust... need i say more ^^ hitting hard 2handed is one thing.. taking mountains of damage when you have no defence (parry) is another

my point was to use 2h only when not getting hit, switching to shield+1h when having enemies on me, but ill try to figure something out without having melee ressist on shield. Thou i cant remember last time i saw a pierce NS, and fewer Infs specing thrust for each day going.

Seen plenty have fun being hit for more or less capped damage if someone starts slapping you around with GS when it procs.. -5% from that i think.. and chain is already -10% weak... so many situations that would kill you so easily.. what if your 2handed and your stunned and purge is down? lights out for you

only a very few select classes use thrust first of all (almost none actually).

Some NSs(less than 50%), some infs (way less than 50%), a very few tanks ..

and why would you get stunned with a 2hander out very often, unless you play bad?

someone uses purge2/3 and slams before you swap.. duo partner or such (seen it happen), reactionary stun (diamond back, dragonfang, parry chains), positional stuns, ST... etc etc etc.... and you know not only stealthers can spec for thrust, pierce... plenty of vamps around.. and yes i've seen a good few stealthers still specced thrust/pierce... building a template around "none thrust" users is quite silly really when your armor is already vuln to it ;x but hey gave my 2 cents don't wanna listen to it fine ^^ don't care personally your funeral if any of the above happens and your purge is down...

Spoken like a true resist monkey... i bet all your tank templates have 0% matter and such aswell and you argue "But i've got det 5 so i'm ok! roots won't last long on me!" ;| and on that note.. if you still don't see what i'm trying to say your dim ;| good day to you sir

I agree with skimping on underused resists, but cold and thrust ? *ALOT* of stealthers who aint pierce-spec are using a cold leggie on Mid-chain.

As said, you cannot cap everything, but I would strongly suggest capping those two resists. Also +11 weapon-spec is something which I consider trivial.

Capping 4 stats (PIE is neglected in his template) and atleast 1 skill is very possible without having totally fubar melee-resists (and cold-resists). To compare: My VW template has 40 less hits, 101 STR, 80 CON 70 DEX 75 QUI 69 INT and +11 Scythe and better resists, with a more or less free weapon-choice.
