i whould just want to know.. what is a valewalker capable of doing? in an rvr grp i mean.... what is his role? has he the same chance as a thane? or? what role does he take? nuking like a wizz and then fighting like a friar? discuss

Lifetap doesn't do that much dmg in rvr, it's best suited to taking down the weaker support classes while tanks beat them up or for healing yourself if you've been injured.

I normally use /follow, hanging at the back of the grp with hib support whilst moving around, find I normally avoid the first shot or two of mezzes and can happily nuke away until a tank comes for me or a healer and then I engage them in melee. Our snare is useful for taking a tank off someone, or like our dot for interrupting enemy casters.

VW is one of the harder classes to play in rvr and won't be fotm with most rvr guilds or even some pickup grps but that's not to say a VW isn't rvr worthy, with some luck our unique RA defender of the vale, 500 point grp ablative) will get tweaked and become more useful.

VW's are let down by there RA's (i.e no determination). DotV is not bad but is up for an upgrade soon. What we do offer is a Insta Snare (20sec cast time), Side Stun into a chain, Back stun (8sec), Life tap and insta DOT to interupt casters. If u set yourself up right u can be running with AF575 (Verdant Scythe ) and a 33% absorb buff + my ablative goes of alot. After 1.62 VW are far from gimped but like most hybrids they dont have access to certain RA's. I know the TL was pushing for a Minstrel like ablative chant and overall he gets postive feedback just dont expect it till 2010.

cant a valewalker play the role of interupting every moving thing until the tanks assist on it? can it succeed on doing so? i mean if a skilled player is behind him can the class offer him the opportunity to do so? and if it does i think he can be a usefull class.. snaring tanks off paperarmor allys is very essential and dotting sorcs clerics/healers interuptiong ect
