Woah! That really looks great :D

Some of the guys working on that game really must have hit their childhood dream job right on the nail, huh? The producer looks like he just got out of puberty, lol

that would be because of all the cracking of PC games, its just more profitable to sell console games.

Yeah coz you never ever ever see Wii/PS2/PS3/Xbox game torrents! Wiikey only took about 6 months after the box came out, copies of just about every release are available.

How many PC's are there compared to consoles? Much bigger market and a vast majority of gamers buy the product and don't download even though they could.

The reason the consoles get's all the games has nothing to do with pirateing but all to do with saving money when it comes to development. It costs more time to get a game working for a PC due to the billions of combination in hardware, while all the consoles are identical.

That said, it's just gonna take 6-7 months at the most before the game comes to PC unless it's a total flop. Don't forget there's an upside to this aswell, we get improved games - less bugs, more costumizeable content etc. than the consoles had at launch. See Mass Effect, they sorted out most of the major problems on console and now it's the top3 best selling game of the month. Other examples would be Oblivion which is still pretty damn popular according to Xfire's logs, while it probably gets very, very low playtime on the consoles due to total lack of usercontent.

And regarding pirateing games, it really has nothing to do with the games costing much which the companies seems to think but more to do with the fact that it's so much easier to get them in the first place, and get them to work. If I have a 600gb HDD I don't really want to use the CD all the fucking time when I play 1 of my 35 games - cracks fix that. If I want a new game I don't want to get on a 1½ hour traintrip back and forth to get to a gamestore, or wait 2-3 days for the game to get in my mail when I can just as easily download it, or if I decide to buy it from a download site it somehow costs exactly what it costs in store - you'd figure without the shipping of the box, production of the cd and so on it would be cheaper but no.. It's really the same problem as with movies and music, the companies are behind the average user trying to stick to old practices.

The best part is btw the copy protection, which actually limits the legal buyer more than the illegal downloader.

Not like they ever x-platform the code and release on PC as well!

well, if you look at this site

NFOrce Entertainment

which i use mainly to see what games are coming out (and it's usually spot on) you will see that there's next to nothing worth getting on the PC atm due to the lack of games for this platform. That was my main point.

The cracking/pirating issue has nothing to do with it for me. If the game is good enough I will buy it, but like I said, it's pointless even considering buying a powerful PC atm when you can't even begin to test it's boundaries with a serious game like you used to be able to.

I've had my AMD quad Phenom 9600 now for 6 months, there's no way there's anything on the PC market that will push it even slightly atm.

Age of Conan, World in Conflict, Supreme Commander and Crysis will all give it a proper workout. Especially Supreme Commander.

My Quad core Intel Q6600 beasty with Sli 8800 GTS cards breezed through AoC and Crysis at top level settings. AoC Graphics are amazing for an MMO, still enjoying the grind :)

I guess it depends what games you are looking for, I still buy a couple of games a month on the PC....

I really don't mind waiting a few months longer than console gamers because the PC version is usually superior to the console version, mass effect, bioshock, assassins creed, HL2 etc etc.

Only this month I have bought even more PC games (not all exclusives but the best platform) Lego Indiana Jones, Mass effect, AoC and got Race Driver GRID on order.

New games I am looking forward to: Spore, the new total war game, stalker: Clear skys, Warhammer online. GTA4 will eventually come out I imagine too.

Either way you look at it the gaming industry is booming at the moment

Both of you missed my point. The message i was pointing to that the PC is being largely overlooked and somewhat ignored as whole for a platform. Back in the early days - even with consoles, games would be released in a fairly healthy manner. Now we wait purely it seems for either mmo's or hand me downs from consoles.

You can see for yourself that the paltry offering as in the amount that was mentioned above just proves my point :<

I can agree with you if you are the kind of person that really dislikes RTS games, because they rule the PC.

Just looking at upcoming ones, Red Alert 3, World in Conflict: Soviet Assault, Dawn of War 2, Empire: Total War - the list goes on, yeah some of them will be released on Console aswell but we both know that it's on the PC they will sell the most.

PC is only really dead if you only like 1 kind of genre else we have a lot of upcoming good games - and any game that was a success on console will in 9 times out of 10 be ported(the only exceptions really are Final Fantasy & MGS, personally I never liked either of them so couldn't care less). And while most of you seems to dislike ports, they are getting a lot better, Mass Effect is a golden example of a perfect port - they changed what people complained about on the 360 and didn't forget to fix the UI for PC players.

Other than that; we have Spore as a PC exclusive and I can see it selling INSANE amounts of copies simply because it's ridiculously low system requirements meaning anyone with a 4 year old Dell can basically play it.
