UT Lightmap Question

Hi

I just started playing UT on line after playing through the single player game. When I played in singe player I had the lightmap turned off so it was nice and easy to see what was happening. I’ve just played my first game on line and the light map was back on. I tried the single player game again and the light map was off again. I presume it turns the lightmap on when you play on public serves. Is this the case, and if so is there any way you can play online with the lightmap off? It’s just too bloody dark with the lightmap.

Thanks

I'm not sure what u mean by 'Lightmap'. There's no option in preferences called Lightmap as far as I'm aware.

More details please :)

The exact command in the unrealtournament.ini file is “NoLighting=True”

It turns the lightmap off so you’re just left with the textures and a nice bright level :) It may be that it’s considered cheating in UT so there’s no way to play with it off on line, but no light map is allowed on public servers in Q3. If you can turn it off that would be excellent, but I’ve played four games now with the lightmap on and it’s not hard to get used to.

I must say UT is a hell of a lot of fun. I’ve only played InstaGib so far but it’s just great. Wish I started playing it earlier :)

I think you'll find it is one of those settings that can only be used offline.

my understanding its its an offline/serverside command, and its a bit of a shame, coz its one of the better tweaks that exists (and it stops ut being so stupidly garish on some maps :D)

completely different settings, but nice try ;)

(and saying press f11 only works if you don't have binds for function keys ;))
